Gayle and Samuels are bigger downhill skiers than Petrie, beat up on the Zimbabwe bowlers and then fail against South Africa.

To be fair, chasing a mammoth score like this is going to be harder than setting one no matter what attack it's against.

Who's South Africa's 5th bowler tonight? Lack of a genuine all-rounder might just f*** them in this tournament.

They have Behardien as an all rounder and 5th bowler but he's pretty ordinary compared to guys like Kallis, Pollock and Klusener.

Lack of a genuine all rounder might cost them but if De Villiers keeps batting like he did today it might not matter.

Brian McMillan said the same thing in a Cricinfo interview. I feel they were hoping Jacques Kallis would still be playing.

Also, what about Holder's figures.

After 5 overs: 1/9

After 10: 1/104

Makes sense, with a batting lineup like that, if you're only good enough to bat at 7, you'd want to be able to do something else, otherwise they may as well pick a 5th bowler.

Still, 5th bowler could be the difference against the strong teams, even if de Villiers bats well, you know you'll get to face 10 overs of pies from someone, and Philander isn't there anymore either. Aus and NZ are the standout teams, way too balanced for the rest.

Yeah, I'd wondered it, but when I saw that I realised it wasn't just me not knowing much about a few of their players.

They'd kill for Kallis right now, they look as one-dimensional as India. Sure the batting is ominous, but the outcome of the game rests entirely on their batting, if a good bowling team posts either a big first innings score, or restricts them well, they're f***ed.

Petries performed in some finals...

First of all, **** off if you're not interested in cricket.

This match deserves a thread of it's own, and this is it.

Next of all, the NZ vs AUS "rivalry" in cricket is largely one sided. NZ have a rivalry with us, we usually don't give a **** about them.

That said, they're flying right now, and they're playing on their absolute favourite deck, Eden Park.

We need to beat these campaigners.

So I was at the footy last night, and I .................oh sorry, I thought this was BigFooty. Seems I've accidentally stumbled into BigCricket:oops:
