The best teams at NOT going back to back

He's not happy though which is why he whinges and moans in every thread that each Richmond side/player didn't get the recognition they deserved. But then pretends they ARE held in such esteem. And then he melts down again when people tell him no. It's very entertaining. But he ain't a happy camper.

Mate some guy said Dusty wouldn’t have been able to get a kick back then due to tagging and you want to give me smack for defending him. Gimme a break. You’re unreasonable af and a total hypocrite.

No I make fun of you hysterically demanding everyone rates Richmond sides and players as highly as the most one eyed Tigers fan.

Fans of the other dynasty sides never had to resort to this. It's rather pathetic but I can't complain.

In 20/30 years time you think a 3 in 5 team will be considered better than a 3peat or 3 in 4 team. Yeah good luck with that. 🤣

History will see us as the best MCG and GF team ever unless somebody beats it. So eat it.
I'm going by what the neutrals think. Everyone except Richmond supporters rates the top end teams of that era stronger, i.e who Geelong, Collingwood or Hawthorn had to beat as opposed to Richmond.

You can argue that Brisbane benefited from peaking during the Port choker years and a solid but unspectacular (on paper) Pies side but these were much tougher foes than the likes of the 2017 Cats, 2019 Giants or 2020 Power. And they beat an outstanding side to start it (Essendon). They were also road kings come crunch time.

Look that Richmond side was decent and the only good side 2017-2020. You can only beat who was in front of you. But they were a smidge below the '08 Hawks as far as how strong they were. They would've beat Port in 2007 but no other grand finalist until 2015 at least. These are all common sense opinions.

It’s been 40 years and plenty of rugby league fans think there is no difference between the 80s bulldogs and eels teams who won 4 titles each. Again, tell me why one team gets bigger cups than the other.

You’ve never been able to answer this question.

If the team that wins three in three is so good, why couldn’t they stay at the top for 5 years.

What’s your explanation, atom-splitter

I was talking to the op about the thread topic. Mentioned Geelong and you guys had a hissy fit and derailed the thread yet again. Get lost.

It seems the tantrum is coming from your direction, and fairly placed points with basic facts are not something you enjoy seeing.

Very insecure. You essentially provided the evidence for why Hawthorn 2008 were a stronger side than any of Richmond's premiership teams this century, and now are withdrawing like a scared worm.

Neutrals will go by the book eventually.

And you can’t have it both ways, you can’t say Geelong were the best team all year but choked the 08 GF and at the same time declare yourselves better than 09 St Kilda and 11 Pies when they were minor premiers and choked it.

Fact is Geelong 07-11 were not as good as Hawks 08. You lost with your best team against them fully fit. Weakest “dynasty” in the history of the game and backed up by the lack of b2b flags, which again no other dynasty as done they all have gone b2b. End of story winner of this thread is Geelong.

Because they aren’t mutually exclusive genius 😂😂😂😂

Where did you get that from? 🤣

The evidence is Hawks 08 is better than Geelong 07-11. THEY LITERALLY BEAT YOU 🤣🤣

By the end of 2008 Geelong weren't the best team that season. 2007, 2009 and 2011 they were; it's not rocket science. Using your logic, the 2018 Pies are better than any Richmond premiership team. Sometimes I worry about what's going on upstairs with you; it's like there's nobody home.

The negative marks for losing a grand final to a side around Richmond 2019 level, were more than made up for by beating a side with a 22-2 record heading into the big game (St Kilda 2009) and a side with a 22-0 record against every other side in the competition (Collingwood 2011). That's two 22-2 sides with an aggregate % of over 160. And beating an MCG based team on their home ground in knockout finals each time.

A much more convincing portfolio than the 2017-2020 Tigers I'm afraid.

Richmond 2017-2020 were closer to the level of the '97/'98 Crows. Not amazing in H&A, very good in finals but benefited from some luck. The '97 Saints and '98 Roos however were stronger sides than any Richmond 2017-2020 faced and they beat them both on the road.

Talent wise probably a similar profile between the two teams. The '97/'98 Crows probably would've threepeated 2017-2019.

BUT THATS WHAT YOU USE TO SAY GEELONG IS THE BEST GENIUS. F me 🤣🤣

Do I? I don’t remember saying st Kilda played their best on grand final day in 09. I think they played bloody well but they didn’t kick straight and botched some chances.

Collingwood threatened to play their best and were three goals in front and had all the momentum and we lost our main key forward.

In what game does EVERYTHING revolve entirely around only what one team does? They all revolve around what both teams do.

Too bad the no b2b voids it. That’s all people will remember in 20/30 years.

And you got beaten by a 17-5 team who didn’t even make finals the next year so sit down with your H&A crap. Geelong 07-11 have an atrocious portfolio.

Nah, they’ve got 3 flags. Which is a great portfolio.
It’s the same portfolio as other three flag teams. They don’t give you extra flags, like ‘win them in a sequence, get an extra one free’ prizes, much as you’d like them to.

I’ll just look at the three cups and wonder why everyone else’s cups aren’t magically bigger

Geelong supporters use the opposition (based on H&A records) to determine how good they were (but conveniently ignore Hawks 08) this mentality is so stupid, contradictory and reeks of copium.
