Would have Didak probably the worst in the league currently.

Interesting that people say monfries. played on him twice, and he sure as hell didn't play for free kicks then - was a damn corageous footballer. probably don't see enough of him to comment atm.

Angus Wantfries is a massive diver. He has those Gavin Wanganeen collapsable knees.

Although I'm not sure what Houli has done to be on that list.

Bartel was a shocking diver...much improved the last 18 months, and I thought it patently unfair they changed their umpiring of him in the 08 finals series, but through the finals and most of 2009, "you dived Jimmy" was a common utterance from the umps.

Re: that footage - first time I've seen that. Was sure they'd use the "pinwheeling arms" as Franklin is wrestled to ground before the ball arrives in a marking contest (against Adelaide?...AAMI stadium anyway, other pocket to that footage), but those incidents were all genuine stages, though you can't really tell with the Franklin one as the shot isn't long enough, I'll presume it was.

God status: Kurt Tippett

I'm not sure if Tippett deserves God Like status for diving. He certainly gave away many more free kicks than he received in 2009. So if he is a diver he aint any good.

I'm not sure if I am just being biased and admittedly I haven’t seen every Crows game in the last 12 months but can somebody shed some light on this for me.

Was it in relation to the free kick he got in the dying stages of the semi final last year?

Sorry, that's just a dumb call. If you're referring to that free in the last 1/4, Wells had his eye on the ball & got knocked over. I wouldn't have been surprised if it was called play on ; but it was hardly a dive.

I'd estimate that 80% of his goals are from dodgy free kicks around the top of the goal square, or from milking dodgy 50m penalties

At least players like Ballantyne and Milne are able to craft a few legitimate goals. They may dive around a bit, but often this is simply their weird-arse method of evading a tackle.

Selwood doesn't dive. He knows a thing or two about breaking tackles by rolling his shoulders to free himself. This coupled with the amount of times he puts his head over the ball wins him lots of free kicks.. Hardly diving tho is it?

You clearly hear both commentators state that Joel would be dissapointed with his efforts there in the fact that he dived after minimal contact by a Hawthorn player.

Just because you lose doesn't mean that someone cheated

The commentators were probably referring to Joel being disappointed to lose a contest he would normally win. Joel is a hard player and I would be disappointed to think he would dive. He's hardly a noted diver of the league, he wins enough contested footy to put his body in the firing line more than most!

Throwing your head back = staging for a free
