Given the choice, I would take Cahill over Dann. There is a problem with bringing one of them in that no one discusses and that is, who leaves? I don't think having 3 CBs all capable of playing first team football sitting on the bench/reserves is a good idea. It would also hamper the progress of Wisdom who is going to be a beast and a player I would like to get some games this season (either in the cups or as a sub in some league games when winning comfortably).
Carra has said he doesn't want to sit on the bench and he is not ready to retire, Skrtel and Agger are too good to not be starting and Soto would be a decent 3rd or 4th choice which I don't think he would mind at this stage of his career.
It would have to be one of Skrtel, Agger or Carra. Agger is absolute quality when fit so I would love to see him as first choice along side Dann/Cahill. However that seems unlikely so I think we may see Skrtel with Dann/Cahill with Agger leaving and Carra fazed out becoming a bit part player. I seriously hope Agger stays fit as he is one of my favourite reds and he is brilliant.
Or would we be better off switching formation to suit 3 CBs such as a 3-5-2?
