Really? I think I was watching a different game, I thought he was average for the most part with glimpses of brilliance, I was disapointed with his performance along with Carra, Lucas, Flano, Hendo and Carroll.

Don't like a midfield of Lucas and Adam, both of them sit way too deep. Need Raul or Gerrard who constantly makes runs forward to offer some impetus.

Kuyt up front on his own is fine with Suarez and Downing either side of him.

If we get a competent CB that's better than Carra (and that's not too hard to find), then we can play a higher line and be alright

Great first half terrible in the second. At least Chelsea and Arsenal dropped points. I think sunderland have done well in the market and they will cause a few suprises this year.

We should be a good chance against arsenal minus fabregas, wilshire, possibly song, nasri and gervinho got a red card for 'slapping' barton so we should go in pretty confident

I don't think Adam will play as much once Gerrard is back. Too slow for the wing and I doubt Kenny would bench Suarez/Kuyt/Carroll too often to accomodate FOUR CM's. I think he will turn into a squad player to be honest.

In regards to our game on the weekend. I think it will be a draw. Djourou and Gibbs both picked up hamstring injuries so we are bare in defence. Our attack is blunt without RvP, Chamakh looks like a Championship player now. And don't even start me on Rosicky. We are are scraping the bottom of the barrel to field a decent starting XI.

Mereiles was subbed on in second half...pretty invisible tbh (apart from new mohawk). Missed a fair chunk of pre-season with niggles.

We were terrible at the Emirates last season mate, if we manage to scrape a draw against 'Pool this weekend most of us would take it thats how bad we are going at the moment.
