Possibly Aurelio's final appearance for Liverpool?

No Carroll, although we've probably been playing better without him.

Assuming he gets through today (watch him get injured now!), Skrtel is the only Liverpool player to have played every minute of every league game this season. That's a fair effort! :thumbsu:

Andre Wisdom is an 18-year-old CB.

No Europe next season. Weeiiirrrdddd... We should have scored 3 times in the second half. Oh well. Now to the summer and we will find out if the lack of European football will hurt our transfer targets, lets hope not.

You know what's weird... usually I would be absolutely gutted at no European football whatsoever. Europa League is annoying enough but now none at all... I should be feeling pissed off, sad, gutted, anything. But I dont. Im excited.

H&G put such a burden on this great club of ours. Despair was what I felt most days for the past few years. Then when RH took over and results nosedived. Everything just seemed so horrible. But now with the King in the hotseat, fantastic new owners, no debt on the club and results turning around. I feel for the first time in a very long time that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

No European football next season but strangely enough I havent been this excited about a season in a long, long time.

If it was CL football we missed out on I'd be pretty dissapointed but Europa really isn't important. And while I do believe a lack of CL football may impact our signings does anyone believe that big names will care about missing out on Europa league? I wouldn't have thought so.

Looking forward to next season now. We're in a position to give the league a real shake.

I hate to do an Embers... but it's warranted this time:

sums up tottenham fans as well.

Would've liked Europa league, 5th would've been a great achievement considering where we were in January but we faded the last couple of games unfortunately. Can really concentrate on the league and maybe put a cup run together for the first time in a while (if we dont get United away first up).

6th is still a fantastic achievement and Kenny should be hailed until the day of the new season. I like Europa but I think the King has much bigger fish to fry. I would rather see us regain some respect in the domestic cups now although that is easy to say after we finish outside spots isn't it? But we have exited these competitions in embarrassing ways the last few seasons and we have done mighty well in the Europa league and I suppose Kenny doesn't fancy the flights to Turkey and Israel and what have you when he would be focusing on Champions League above all.

GB I honestly don't get the pic is that some kind of 4chan humor used by upset fans of small clubs? Go take your teenage anger out on the West Coast board this week or something mate. [e: referring to the luigi pic not the trampoline]

It really is dead around here lately

I'm only a reader of this forum and our thread but I think it's good now that the following are gone:

TIG/Jessica Watson etc - annoying, lame, unfunny.

bus24/Sebastian Vettel - sometimes ok but the rants were cringeworthy

fantastic crows - wanky, holier than thou loser.

Plus good not reading smug manc w***ers like belfast bomber and A Bit High chipping in with annoying lamo shit.

This thread is good now.

It was split here in regards to Europa as you probably well know. I wanted it and argued for trying but it's certainly not something I will lose sleep over now we are out. Spurs were unlucky, clearly didn't want it but were ****ed either way... had to try for 5th, getting the fair play spot would be shithouse for any of the top teams.

I would of taken a spot in Europa but we are not in and it doesn't bother me. My main concern now is this transfer window then the Premiership (and hopefully some Saturday games next season, please.).

To be honest, missing out on a Europa league spot doesn't faze me, it will make us focus on the bigger picture the premier league and winning it back, not to mention the fa cup, ect. Hopefully we do some good work in the off season and grab a few key signings and build for the 2011-2012 season, YNWA!

GrandBlue + jod talking to himself = good. Palease.

Atleast the crap I wrote had some truth to it. The whole Hazard isnt going to join Liverpool because he wants to join a big club like Borussia Dortmund doesnt really make sense to well anyone

Where'd I say anything about GrandBlue?

Gimme a ****en break.

The problem with no Europa League is that you're going to drop 27 points off your UEFA co-efficient and replace it with a big fat 0.

Not so much a problem, you'll drop from 5th ranking to about 15th, but if you missed out again you're getting into dangerous territory when it comes to qualifiers (if City finished 4th this season we could have been up against the likes of Bayern Munich, Villareal, Lyon, Benfica just to qualify for the group stages) and then seedings for the group stages.

Last season you got 15 points from the Europa League so even if the competition isn't as prestigious as some would like, it's still valuable in terms of co-efficient points.

I wanted Europa League. We dont have it. So we get on with it. No backflips. If I could choose, id take EL for sure, more games, more opportunities and more money. But we dont so we get on with it.

There are positives, no thursday/sun,mon games. More time off to be fresh for league games. But of course there are negatives. I wanted the EL but something tells me the club didnt. 2-0 and 1-0 to end the season.

You make a good point here Moomba but I think this season is very much a one off. What with Brum and Stoke stealing spots away from the usual top 7. 6th and 7th werent good enough. So we missed out after a horrendous start under Roy. I dont think we will miss out on a European spot next season. I think without European football next season, we could make a run back into the top 4. Europa League at worse for us next season.

Oh and Jonjo Shelvey...

The midfielder also reflected on his debut campaign at Anfield and added: "To get the opportunity to play for this club is the best thing that could happen to me in my life.

"I love the club to bits and the word to describe the experience so far is unreal and a dream come true."

Not only does he have a terrific attitude and loves the club, he's bloody good too.
