i like the sow rumors seems like it's feasible to bring him in this month. i think it could be him and a winger and we'll see one man go out, dirk or maxi. sinclair seems like a smart player but i've only watched him play a handful of times, does he have an attacking or defending mentality? cos we know what hoilett is all about

Galatasary are rumored to be very interested in Kuyt at a decent transfer fee.

I'd be happy with this transfer window should we swap Bent for Carroll and sign both Sow & Kalou. Possibly even Holliet also if finances allow. We haven't spent the 15 million recouped from Meireles yet.

Wouldn't hurt to enquire at the Bernabeu about a loan deal for Lassana Diarra also with Lucas out until at least August this year.

I dont think we will bring in anybody. KD has come out and said that the funds are there if need be but he doesnt feel like he has to bring anyone in and that the club can accomplish their goals with the current squad. So I dont think we will buy anyone. Or sell anyone for that matter.

Stanley Park does look amazing but I agree with WC2022 that 60k is not the max we should go for. We should look to go to 70k.

That stadium looks ****ing amazing, lacks the intimacy of Anfield though. Much like The Emirates with Highbury.

In actual reality its the cheapest stadium money can buy. Heck if anyone could build a stadium for the price these guys do then West Ham, Tottenham, QPR, Fulham etc would all be building one tomorrow.

Its pretty much a NFL stadium in case no one has noticed

The proposal just doesnt add up. They cant do it as cheap as they want too without skipping a hell of alot. IMO they are just going to build it up as quick and cheaply as possible and then over the next 20 years modernise it and bring it up to standard. At that price in todays economic climate your really not going to get anything close to say Emirates or really anything beyond just decent. Its insanely cheap

TBH I can see us winding up like Arsenal did after they built Emirates...having near to no money. The stadium does look great, but when we build this we probably won't buy anyone for a couple of years and sell players just to get transfer money.

I think you're probably right. I remember watching one of those shows on Discovery/Nat Geo or someone a while back about building a stadium, they talked about how they can make them so it's far easier to add more seating when the time or money allows for it... without remembering that well I think it was more they put the extra support and whatever into the structure to be ready to take another tier.

I think the discovery program you are referring to is about Swan Street Stadium in Melbourne.

We are very close to signing Joao Carlos Teixeira from sporting lisbon for 830k. Portugese 19 year attacking midfielder and comes from the same academy as Luis figo, Nani and Cristiano Ronaldo. He has been likened to a young deco and had impressed dalglish in a nextgen game for the youth team against us at anfield earlier in the season where he scored at the kop end.

We certainly are blowing all the other teams out of the water in regards to getting the best young talent into the academy.

And the mirror are up to their best work if you look at tomorrows headline

We have also signed a 150m deal with Warrior as shirt sponsors

lulz.... Adidas weren't getting their moneys worth? As the article states 'we are the fourth highest football club for global shirt sales'. One would think that would be money well spent....

Umm you asked for double your money on the previous deal. You asked for more then any of the top 3 clubs that outsell you. This is all on the back of selling your most marketable player (Torres), having no Champions League football and generally only marketing yourself to one market and that is England. If I was Adidas id of told you to piss off too

Untrue, one of the pushes in recent season has been towards marketing ourselves more for the Asian market, hence the pre-season tour to China,Malaysia and Singapore. This is also on the back of replacing our major shirt sponsor with Standered Chartered which has a big presence in Asia to increase our profile there.

End result was we struck a deal with Warrior Sports and we will be getting more then double what Adidas are currently paying us so I consider that to be a good result.

If Adidas thought they weren't getting value for many then fair enough, I don't think there's any need to go public like that, if anything its negative publicity for themselves

No Champs league does hurt us in regards to sponsorship, but hey the new deal is double that of Adidas so I guess we take it and run.

Just on your other point - asked for more than the other clubs? I've not seen that reported anywhere, but i havent looked too hard, just saw a couple of reports that Adidas thought we were asking more than they felt it was worth.

Only one market? As Kane mentioned there have been off season tours thru Asia for several of the last few years, and in that respect the fourth highest selling kit worldwide would seem to discredit that.

^^^ This x 2

Last years Asian trip was a massive success...I think 80,000 turned up to one game! And then I think there was another one with 50,000.
