So, with Stiffy and Bernie still unavailable, what changes (if any) are made to our side?

AFAIK there are no forced outs.

Available this week that weren't last week are:
Symes
Jaensch
Sloane

Still available after being overlooked are:
Armstrong
Griffin/McKernan/Sellar
Henderson
Shaw
Young

Of those, I imagine Symes will be a certainty, and Sloane a maybe.
Craig seems to think Tippett is the ideal choice for a second ruck, and no-one else will get a look in until Kurt goes down.

So, IMO maximum 2 changes. Gunston, Davis and Tippett were the only players without double digit possessions, and we all know Tippett is needed in the ruck.

My prediction: In - Symes, Sloane
Out - Davis (omit), Gunston (omit)
Emg - Griffin Davis Gunston

Harsh on young Gunner, but he probably needed a 40 possession game to get someone else displaced by Symes.

Unchanged team is my bet.

I disagree with your comment that "Craig seems to think Tippett is the ideal choice for a second ruck, and no-one else will get a look in until Kurt goes down." He's just not happy selecting 2 pure ruckmen (Maric & Griffin) who have no alternative but to leave the field when they're not in the ruck. He's waiting for the form & fitness of our more flexible ruckmen (Sellar & McKernan) to reach a level where their selections can be justified.

Symes has been out of action for a long time. He had a good outing for Centrals last week and I reckon he'll be given one more run in the SANFL, before returning to the seniors next week.

I can't justify the selection of Sloane ahead of any of the incumbents on current form, so he can play for North Adelaide again this week.

OUT: Edwards
IN: Symes?

After watching the replay Edwards was very poor on the weekend and surely an example has to be made at SOME point! Symes is a much better defender and would have better decision making and disposal than Edwards is displaying at the moment. He can also be chucked into the middle to give a hard edge to our midfield.

OUT: Cook
IN: Symes

Jaensch looks like he will struggle to get back in the side then guys?
Have to think going have to play a couple of real big games before getting another gig unless been written off totally .
I agree Symes in for Cook .
Cook had ample opportunities to cement spot hasnt done that a couple of games at South wont hurt .
Like to see Armstrong given a decent chance to show up to it but cant see this week it happening .
Really sorry to see Goody retire at season end and hope Edwards sets a game in 3-4 weeks to retire before being told as has really lost any impact as a player.
Least those 2 HUGE goals means Walker not a Craig target this week .

We need pace this week to take the Saints on like Carlton and Essendon exposed them, so possibly Symes for Cook, would be disappointed to see Normie dropped

I heard craig talk about the suspended trio referring to them as "those three" and "them".... doesnt sound that bad but his tone was quite dark. Id say all three have lots of work to do, especially jaenschy. Might be harsh but I wouldnt be surprised if he didnt appear all season.

I agree with Symes in as the only change, but I don't agree that Cook is the one to go out... but then I'm having trouble coming up with the one who does go out

Wonder if we'll see Porplyzia given a rest any time soon? If he goes out it could be Symes in, and either a defender moved forward, or a defender moved to the midfield and a midfielder (Dangerfield? Thompson? Edwards?) moved forward.

OUT: Gunston
In: Symes

I can't imagine Gunston will be given a second game just yet. Neil Craig generally likes to give guys a taste of AFL and then send them back to the SANFL. I'm sure we'll see him again before the season is over. Symes is just too good to leave out of the side at the moment.

Actually, he likes to give them two games.

Symes has no match fitness, and he is nowhere near good enough a player that you would ignore it and rush him back in anyway.

In any event, I'd be bringing Symes in for Cook as a like for like swap - both players hard at the ball, both make Kane Cornes look like the lovechild of Simon Black and Aaron Davey by foot, but Symes is harder, stronger, able to tackle, quicker of mind, and just better.
