He's out of ideas completely.
Watching the pregame interview and he looked scared, no confidence at all, like he knew we were going to get flogged before the game even started.
Camera cuts to him on the boundary line during the game, he looks like a stunned mullet most of the time.
Poor media performer. Not a good game day coach (remember they ignored his instructions to win the GF). Unsustainable and old game plan. Has shaped the list around that game plan, keeping favourites in, trading in depth plodders and letting go talent that got stick of being overlooked in the VFL.
Just a bad coach who inherited a good list and got lucky one year with injuries and the team winning on talent alone.

Watching the dogs play was entertaining, forcing the handball through the corridor blokes always moving for it and then kicking to forwards 1-1. We couldn't be any further from that
he should give his Jock McHale to Darren Burgess, there's no doubt about it.
No Burgess no Dees ya reckon? Who knows,but clearly he was a big loss to the club.

Another thing that infuriates me about Goody is his stubborn refusal to use a tagger. We used to eons ago but now he is so steadfast in "trusting the system" and "playing our brand". We get killed by star players (see Bont) far too often.

Turns out Basil Zempilas was right and an actual hero for not letting him give a speech.
Didn't he use ANB on Daicos to success? Why hasn't he run with that each week? Maybe has has? I don't know. Not sure he'd be a good match up on Bont, but Treloar maybe?

Yes you are correct he did use ANB to great effect. It's a pity it was a one off though.
Similar to Harmes. Remember when Harmes was like the best tagger for about a 6 week period? Then Goody never went with it again? Lol. You have to wonder wtf goes through that guys mind.

We're stuck in an incompetence trap. The board, the footy department, the coaching staff.
If they sack the coach, that's the first domino and then they keep moving up the blame ladder. Which is how it should go when you've turned a relatively young premiership team into basically St Kilda.
Instead they've all insulated themselves behind Goody. Shuffle around a few assistants, find 1-2 junior scapegoats in the staff and clean out a half dozen list cloggers and call it an offseason and hope nobody has any pesky ambitions for success next year.
Keep all the main dominos intact and people who have absolutely no business being employed at the pointy end of any competitive endeavour can manufacture another un-earned year of gainful employment.
Go team! See you next season, suckers!

They clearly won't sack him anytime soon. Still contracted to the end of 2026 because the brain thrusts in Roffey and Pert thought it was a ****ing brilliant idea to re-sign him.
At least overhaul the whole coaching department and get some quality assistant coaches in like a Nigel Lappin or this guy below

Kane gave Goodwin the injury excuse. smh. Sick of the media giving the injury excuse to Goodwin. He did say there will be pressure next year though.Thank the Lord for Kane Cornes

If we were a bigger club im sure wed be copping it, but we are a pissant club who gets the "you should be happy you won a flag" line. Its actually infuriating.
