With Hodge, Burgoyne and Gibson all likely to retire there's a very good chance Lovell will get a new number at the end of the season.
The club should retire the number 36 jumper permanently.

This is seriously a great idea. Somebody should get to the MCG before a game and get as many Hawk signatures as possible to retire this number permanently. Would easily get couple thousand, then send it to the club.can we get a petition to just get rid of this number permanently?
please don't give it to the fans as I don't need a knee recon anytime soon!

We waited how many years for Woodward to come good? Please not the same old waiting game with Lovell..Burn it..How hard can it be??
Could also scatter some around Kardinia Park, or whatever that hole of a ground down in Sleepy Hollow is being called this week!

May be we can give Gibson the #36 for the rest of the year so we can get Lovell into the #6.

Although I am not a superstitious person, enough is enough! I agree with MatteeG, and if we were able to leave out #1, there is no reason why we can't drop #36. However, I wouldn't wish it on Hawka or the fans.
I was hoping Lovell had some game time this year. Chin up young man, and hope you can fight your way into the 22 before the season ends.

It doesn't even need to be a superstition, these things ge in your mind. "I wear #5, so I need to play to uphold the honour" vs "sheesh, #36, does that mean I'm gonna end up like Tim Boyle's leg"
