My tips

1 - 1) Kidnapped EW 1st 3.20/1.55

2 - 7) Dandaad/Irazu EW IRAZU 3rd $3 place

3 - 6) Faint Perfume 1st $4.70/1.30

4 - 7) Demerit Nada

5 - 11) Rangirangdoo Nada

6 - Have laid Onemorenomore for a shitoad on Betfair, so will hedge and have a bit on him. Otherwise, Rockferry, Extra Zero and Monaco Consul go into the quaddie

Picked up $250ish by laying Onemore, Monaco Consul had a bit of cash thrown at it late ($4.60 the win) and still alive in the quaddie

7 - 11) Typhoon Tracy - can't go past the obvious moral of the day 1st $2.10 - loaded up and it paid off

8 - 2) First Command but will have a bit EW on 6) Eagle Falls Nada and 1st $6.00

9) 5) McClintock and 12) Walking or Dancing EW Nada

Quaddie

1,4,5,8, 10/11/2,5,6/4,5,9,10,12, 13

Have it for 33%...keeping it skinny today - paid 835, dividend of $275

Threw in Centennial Park after I withdrew my first quaddie from Sportsbet because I forgot to put in Rockferry.

Kinda glad I did.

Best result for the carnival. Actually, first profit for the carnival!

Amazing that you were able to throw in Centennial Park into your quaddie, good work.

I can't understand why you would have a $90 quaddie for only 33%. Yet you had a lay bet to WIN $250. Whatever price you got minus the reduction would have been interesting, as it a LOT bigger than a $30 quaddie. That idea of staking doesn't add up to me at all. But also with your exotics.... You selected the running double on your MORAL..... and you would have doubled your investment based on your quaddie selections.

FIRST profit for the carnival! Ouch. Ouch.

If Typhoon Tracy was an absolute moral, wouldn't it make sense to only have one bet on an absolute moral. Because if your simply playing with guess-work on the others it will only eat into your profits from your MORALS.

Surely it wouldn't matter whether you tell this forum that you changed your quaddie selections on here after the quaddie had finished. Because if it does..........ahh well. Everyone likes to brag. But at the end of the day, your only fooling yourself. And you will know through your wallet.

HAVING said all that, if punting is for fun and you have no intentions of taking it seriously. Then keep it that way. Have the fun and don't get caught up in the BIG wins. Because like the person that won the Cox Plate trifecta.... then followed up with a $1600 bet. Silly. Got a collect. Good on them.

Hi mate,
My quaddie was only for $30 - I think I have an extra couple of numbers up there.

Punting for me is just fun, as my nickname suggests I'm more of a poker player.

As for adding numbers after the race has been won to big note myself - yeah not something I tend to do. Looking for adulation on an internet forum isn't my idea of fun!!

As for the laying, yeah I'm pretty new at the Betfair game as well. I laid Onemorenomore before I learned Shamoline was scratched - wasn't actually sure how it all worked, so I was shitting bricks when I realised what I was up for!

And yeah, first profit for the carnival - pretty poor result so far I guess!!

But thanks for your comments. I'll take them on board!! Also, won't be going out to plonk it all on the next $1.70 favourite at Globe Derby or whatever...not my idea of fun!!

Look forward to Cup Day and hoping to make a little more cash.

Happy punting kids!

Actual numbers were

1,4,5,8,10/4/2,5,6/4,5,9,12,13

As an aside, I had to call Sportsbet to get my first quaddie voided which led to my confusion...that is a tedious process, which led to the moron on the other end of the phone telling me that he'd 'do it this once' but not again.

I'd left Rockferry out, not that it mattered....but it's a bit of a joke...surely it's my money until the barriers open and there should be an option to cancel your bets up until race time?? This was about 40 minutes before the Derby jumped too, not like the horses were in the stalls....

Anyway, all good in the end

Phew. Almost lost it.

Still in the quaddie (nothing to be proud of :p).

Now for my favourite horse, MA MA MACHINE, in the last. It's a quality race, should be a quick race, however he's a quick horse, holds the track record at belmont for 1000m.

I'm going to follow you on this one - hopefully cap off a profitable day.

Is $3.20 about right?

Yeah $3.20 is about right.

As I said, my favourite horse. Getting on good.

Quaddie only pays $56 if he gets up, i had 36 lines.
