And when the hell was the photo on the right taken? Mumford has never been that thin.

White was soft last night for pies, Mumford cant get on park and Everitt serviceable at best for blues. Early call but clubs decision to reduce cost (Mumford/Everitt for DRex/Laidler) and invest in Buddy and retention of quality mids looks strategically sound. Recruiting Buddy has also boosted corporate support and membership. Three Friday/Thursday night blockbuster games in a row. Wonder if we would have got those without Buddy?
My read is that excitement for Hawks and Essendon games are elevated largely due to the Buddy and Tippett factor. Thanks to our great club for seeing the bigger picture and making the hard decisions.

It's funny, a few weeks ago Sydney had lost all its depth, Buddy was not playing like a million dollar footballer, and White's contributions to Collingwood were considered by some = to that of Buddy @ Sydney, Mumford was BOG against his old side, etc etc.

Fast forward, and Buddy is almost playing like the 2008 'best forward we have ever seen' version, even taking strong contested marks, Sydney are flying, Mumford can't get on the park, and White is in danger of being 2013's Q Stick.

Of course, this story has a lot of years left to play out. There will be ups and downs and you can be sure both sides of the argument will get their fair share of chances to play I told you so. Ultimately though, premierships will be the one and only true measure of success... and you're looking as good as anyone for the most immediate one.

Bevo made the WAFL rep team to play the NEAFL rep side. Morton didn't make it.

So, if you're feeling particularly nostalgic, and want your footy fix for the weekend during the Swans' bye, get along to Spotless Stadium for the curtain raiser to the GWS v Richmond game.

GWS vs Richmond.....gawd.

Annoyingly puerile vs absolutely woeful. Not much joy from that game.

Well having said that if the tiggers lose to GWS surely it would be getting close to a lights out stage for Dimmer.

Congrats to Jesse White and his partner who just had a baby girl
