Re: The forward structure; have your say.

So pointless to have that on the site.... It's just there because the website never has decent news and they needed to do something.

I truly believe the website has stepped its game up alot since the hiring of that chick who is in charge of the website now. We now see us gaining hawk tv, which was essential after the draft, and during the kokoda trip.

Also there are more off seasons report now, then there ever was between the 06- to 07 season.

I think we expect too much, if you compared our website with any other teams right now they would both generate the same activity with newly posted articles, in comparison to 07 where we would have been hands down the worst.

Re: The forward structure; have your say.

Heres my tip

HF. Hodge Franklin Thorp
F.F Roughy Williams Rioli

Dew will pinch hit from the bench. Boyle will play Centre Half Back. Xavier Ellis will get heaps of game time on the ball this year and Hodge will play a lot more forward where he can tear teams apart in short bursts.

Dowler and Dawson do not have the bodies top play AFL yet.

If Croady goes down we are in a pile of poo.

Re: The forward structure; have your say.

Structure is good, set up isnt.... IMO we shoudl try setting up like BHH with a 2-2-2 forward line... 2 strong marks, 2 crumbers in the first 2 lin, the final one are the big kickers....

Re: The forward structure; have your say.

FF: Williams Roughead Osborne/McGlynn/Rioli

HF: Franklin Boyle Dew

Without Roughead in the forward line:

FF: Boyle Williams Osborne/McGlynn/Rioli

HF: Thorp Franklin Dew

Re: The forward structure; have your say.

On point.

Word i have is that he is being looked at for a wing/HBF role. Like Guerra - thumping pinpoint kicks from HB.

Played as a fwd he would just get torched on the rebound - it would kill us...

Spot on thats also how I see it. Kicking it 60 from half back would hit a leading forward on the burst anywhere from 25-40 out.
Get in line.

Re: The forward structure; have your say.

FP Willo FF Roughead FP Boyle
HF Phorp CHF Buddy HF Mighty Mouse,Hodge,Lewis,Bateman,Dew & C Rioli resting & rotating of HF and big Max Bailey resting forward said it before with the no-arm chopping rule defenders will have all sorts of problems getting near Bailey IMO:thumbsu:

I like this kind of lateral thinking but would take it a little further and just make Bailey the (very) tall forward option with small spurts on the ball to get him up to pace for rucking in the future and create another option.

I know the game has changed a lot since '84 but Paul Salmon was unstoppable in a similar role kicking near on 60 goals in 13 games in the same role.

I saw Dew as a forward before Rioli and Stokes and before I saw his size. Now I think about it we will need two half-back/wing types to replace Smith and Ladson (if Ladson gets upgraded into the middle to make use of his run). So there should be spots available for Dew and Ellis. Ellis could be in the midfield before long anyway, so we may see Dew the defender.
