Playing Xavier Ellis? ah well that's what we get.
Sewell and Franklin absolute champions tried to will us over the line but in the end the swans were a bit surer and exectued when it mattered.
Some terrible games from a few of our leaders hope it haunts them for years.
No gaurantee to get back to that position any time soon anyway onto next year eh go Hawks!

You'll often end up with more scoring shots when you have players bombing for 65 mtrs, the Swans were smarter on their entries IMO, epic game though, Hawks showed real ticker to come back in the third, congrats to Swans, the best 2 teams went at it and there was less than a kick in it at the end.

Hawks were the best side all year. If it wasnt for a few lucky Swans goals in the last quarter and some bad kicking from some of your normally more accurate players the premiership would have been yours. Good luck for next year.

Well what can you say? Bitterly disappointing way to end a season which held so much promise.

Our season and today's game can be summed up with clarko's quote from last year. We weren't hard enough and tough enough for long enough. The second quarter meltdown was costly, no doubt. But regardless, we should have been able to hang on from being 2 goals up halfway through the last.

Clearly we struggle when opposition flood back and try to congest our fwd line. They suffocated us out of the game. Not sure what we can do about that really as we seem to have a game plan that requires space in order for us to play well. So many players just weren't able to impact. Guerra would have helped a lot.just settle things down back. Our backline is very ordinary I have to say it. Don't play contested footy and make opponents accountable.

Sometimes you do everything right and it's not enough. Big year for the Hawks who battled through a tough start to the year to take out the minor premiership. I think in the end though footy is won by winning contests and Hawks didn't have enough contest winners.

He kicked 1 lucky goal and unsurprisingly did nothing else then got subbed. Utterly useless and Murphy would've given the team the boost to win the game.

Hawks 11-15 to Swans 14-7 that's 26 shots to 21. 61 inside 50s to 43 that's 18 more for us and has been our finals series this season and our year...
We are lucky as we get to get on with our lives, but these guys will be haunted by these missed opportunities that's cost us the 2012 Flag.
Go easy on the Club and players because they will be destroyed right now. The great Hawks team of the 80s got belted in GFs and came back the following year to win the Flag.

Commiserations. Losing a GF is dark time particuarly when you know you could have won it.

Thought hawks were gone midway through third - was a good effort to get back into it. That second qurter lapse ended up being the difference.
