A reminder that Ben Fordham (2GB) is an employee of the Nine entertainment Co. - the same organisation that owns the Age and Sydney Morning Herald.

And it's not just Keating, MediaWatch and a host of proper journalists who are calling out Costello's Nine Entertainment Group for its ignorant cheersquad reporting.

Crikey is reporting that The SMH/Age 'War with China is Inevitable' reporting has stirred criticism from staff within the organisation itself: some say worthy subject matter was let down by poor reporting; others say it should never have made it into print.

Unless the corporate control of the media and influence of lobbyists have denigrated political culture to the point where both major parties are solely influenced by the military industrial warmonger lobby. The last time Australia had a genuine chance for a peaceful government was early 2000s Labor, and in the US late 70s Carter. Both were derided as weak and cowards at the time, and ever right leaning "left wing" parties now trip over themselves to more war hungry.

Democracy didn't cause Australia not join in multiple overseas illegal wars over the past decades, and China's system didn't lead them to invade other nations.

In what way has democracy completely failed in the US? They're the richest nation in the world. They're still near-top in nearly every metric (except education), so they're stupid but still rich. Even if it's a bit (increasingly) unequal.

And as far as global security goes, considering the awesome power available to them, they've been relatively benign in world history.

Meanwhile, the top echelons of the CCP and NCP have been cleansed of opposition factions and Xi rules China with an iron fist and unquestioningly. They renegged on their deal with Britain over Hong Kong and essentially sank Hong Kong's real estate and banking sectors and Hong Kong is now a province of China losing all of its value as well as their freedoms.

It also doesn't even matter if the USA is good or bad, the question is about China, which has acted belligerently to all of its neighbours, who then invite US bases and then the Chinese say they're being provoked. Sounds awfully familiar again, doesn't it.

Well, according to the UK and G7, China is breaking the agreement.

According to China, there's no such agreement or obligation (see quote in article). So, since you mentioned that there's an agreement, you don't align with the CCP's view of things.

Shinzo Abe and Xi were close. Trump’s Tariff’s brought Japan and China closer. They have island disputes, but every nation in the region has those. Arguably Japan-South Korea relations are arguably worse, but no one suggests a Japan-South Korea war is imminent.
