Australia has no interest in even facing the domestic violence problem let alone fixing it.

Australian men are more likely to be moved by Alex Antic's parliamentary speech about barber shops than they are about marches for domestic violence.

And they are certainly more likely to lose their shit over a kid with male genitals wanting to play netball with the girls than they are over a woman who was probably wearing a short skirt getting murdered.

We are miles off - and everything from the Liberals is political theatre.

It is only 15 days since they finally gave up on Bruce Lehrmann.

All oppositions can do is talk until governments invite them to work together. The state opposition is about to introduce a bill relating to sexual offences that turns into action a recommendation from the Royal Commission into Child Abuse yet to be enacted. The long term Government needs to be held to account here.

Leadership, organisation, focus on priority not fringe issues, organised not random attacks on the ALPs.many failures and lack of integrity. A well led moderate liberal party would be far ahead of the ALP.

Perhaps not so much for the Victorian branch but certainly true Federally the culture wars are much easier and, perhaps more profitably waged from government than opposition and I'm not sure whether that's dawned on everyone yet.

All 3 emergency services are in industrial action with no end in sight, yet the Vic Libs still can't land a significant blow against the Vic Government.

This is some bread and butter stuff for oppositions to have targeted repeat campaigns on yet there's nothing. Granted it's harder for the LNP to have these campaigns considering the history with the UFU and formerly AEAV now VAU.

Culture wars is what attracts branch members now. And when they have branch meetings and pre-selections out in the burbs, that's what carries the day.

Then they're utterly shocked when the whole electorate wonders WTF they're talking about.

They need to change internally before they can change externally. And it hasn't begun, so I guess we'll just have to hope for more independents and people from the left start holding the ALP to account.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again-the Victorian Liberals really should've done a major cleanout of the parliamentary wing of the party after losing the 2014 state election. The Victorian Liberals are really like a football club that has lost 3 consecutive grand finals, and seems quite happy not to learn how to win a premiership/state election.

This is everything wrong with the Liberal Party. The poor gentleman literally served as the candidate for the Liberal Party in last year's Mulgrave by-election because there was no one else. Then they stabbed him in the back. And despite the article saying he resigned, which is right, he was almost certainly undermined and pushed out the door for whatever joke of a reason.

And I can tell you that the other gentleman this article details has worked for the Victorian Liberals for a great deal of time and was a major part in the last state Liberal win, as well as their successes during government. He is a man of the utmost integrity and loyalty who treats everyone with the greatest respect. And he is someone who has worked every day for that party to try and make our state a better place to live.

You'd think the Liberal Party would need people who care and know how to win more than ever. But nope. They throw them under the bus as scapegoats. But the truth is, the Liberal Party has no idea what they want. These men aren't the problem. The problem is that the leaders of the Liberal Party have next to no vision for what the party stands for in 2024 and how to solve the problems caused by this inept, incompetent, and corrupt Labor government. It's no wonder these men couldn't fulfill their jobs to their best. Very sad state of affairs. Menzies would be rolling in his grave...

I could say many more things. I am clearly a Liberal, as you can tell. I can remember the days of Whitlam. This lot is worse than him and his kangaroo court of a cabinet. Whitlam actually cared and thought what he was doing was right for all Australians. This Labor state government couldn't care less about anyone but themselves and looking after union warlords so they can get votes. Regardless of beliefs, you'd be an absolute fool if you think this Labor government has improved this state for all (perhaps only for their union heavy mates) after 10 years.
