Played with Essendon for a couple of years and moved to SA in his early 20s.
Yep you are right moved over when he was 21. We lived behing Thebby oval for a couple of years before moving to Prospect. Folks used to go and watch them play.
His then wife - Francine - became a well-known model around town.
It got me interested in Essendon - watching him play the year before he came over -but that interest in them waned when they took Michael Long! And to think of it my other favored VFL club was Geelong - until now!!

Carlton was mine before the Crows came on the scene. All the great SA lads used to go and play for them. Now I laugh at them.
