WAFC shafting Freo
This just shows the complete and utter lack of ambition of the WAFC. It is in the best interests of football in this state to have as many teams as possible playing in the sport's elite league.

And yet their attitude seems to have been: "Gosh we have got our one seat at the big boy's table. Let's just be happy with that."

The WAFC should always be advocating for more WA clubs in the AFL and for institutions and structures which give each of these franchises the best chance of success.

That is the best way of increasing the career opportunities for West Australian players, coaches, support staff, and administrators. That is the best way of growing the economic footprint of WA footy both within the local sporting landscape but also within the national footy landscape.

You would think that a serious football commission wouldn't be happy until it held 4 or 5 or even 6 AFL franchises

I care. WC are toxic. I don’t want to see anyone associated with them in our colours. And Frankly I hated seeing JL
In theirs. Sorry, not sorry.
Frankly, It doesn't matter who they are if they're the best person for the job. I have no issues with LeCras if he can get rid of Lobb's set-shot stutters.

this, if they're the best coach available for the position and barring off-field/out of football worries, really couldn't care less, players go to rival clubs as coaches all the time

The annoying thing about Lobb's stutters is that it all seems purely in his head. He got rid of it over the preseason and then...just, started doing it again...for no reason. No coach can stop him stuttering on game day.

that was one of thing things that annoyed me v Sydney when i watched him during the warm up. wasn't there the entire warmup, but came back during the game. in his head for sure, not the routine he's trying for

The WAFC is like WA Inc back in the 80's.
Everyone's snout in the trough.
Grant Dorrington should be sacked forthright for telling Swans officials not to lodge papers with the inquiry.

Don’t start me on Dorro !!!.

He is a malignant cancer on WA Footy. A member of the “old chums” club, with the funny handshake.

People have short memories.

Didn’t Freo employ an assistant this season who had done the dirty on the club during his playing days ?.

Come on down Joshua.

Who gives a rats where the assistant coaches hail from, as long as they come in with fresh innovative ideas.

Yet another example of Freo paying overs for a player only for them to look after themselves and go back to where they wanted to be all along.

Jack Lonie...haven't heard that name before...not sure I want to in the future either!
Clarke and Narkle are decent call. Geelong are going to have some players drop out of the tree if they are chasing the likes of Viney, Daniher, Brown, Higgins etc. Narkle prob wouldn’t cost too much - a future third perhaps - isn’t he out of contract. They have lost Cockatoo but Narkle is another we could target.

Definitley agree on Narkle and Clarke, both are buy low/high ceiling types...getting either of them for a low price would be clever trading.

Hopefully JL learned his lesson about hiring ex West Coast and won’t try to sneak in another Mark LeCrap. I can’t believe that would have gone over very well with the players. Not to mention the membership.
What’s wrong with Lecras? His forward craft was always very good IMO. If he’d been in our forward line in 2013 - 15 we’d probably have a cup.
I don’t subscribe to the ‘us vs them’ mentality when it comes to ex-players coaching. Just get the best person available.
