Freo have been getting praise in general but they also talk about the poor scoring in comparison to previous years, but they haven't taken into account a) the shorter game time and b) the number of wet weather games we had.

I think the shorter games has been calculated but not the wet weather.

Also read an article which mentioned our defence is still extremely good but with this game plan it creates a better platform to score from than the effort based flood the contest of old.

Also we don't get exposed as much if we turn the ball over. Meaning less chance the opposition will score against us. It's a very good game plan.

If our scoring was being suppressed by the wet our ranking would have autocorrected in models when we played in the dry. It didn't.
We seem very defensive because we are very defensive. Defensive anomoly wise we're even more out on our own than we were under Ross. Go check out the Squiggle if you don't believe me.

Hopefully JL learned his lesson about hiring ex West Coast and won’t try to sneak in another Mark LeCrap. I can’t believe that would have gone over very well with the players. Not to mention the membership.
You know that having this massive chip on your shoulder makes Fremantle look and sound weak right?

If LeCras is good then we let him help, him having a West Coast background is beneficial because he was there during a successful period and his experience could help aid the Fremantle Football Club to become better.

The annoying thing about Lobb's stutters is that it all seems purely in his head. He got rid of it over the preseason and then...just, started doing it again...for no reason. No coach can stop him stuttering on game day.
Someone helped Kennedy stop. He stuttered even worse that Lobb does in his first year or two at the weags. And it got worse before it got better.

I hope we become more attacking & higher scoring. I hope it’s just the first phase of JLo implementing his plan. Bed down the defensive structures then build the offensive side 🤞🏻

How? Explain the mechanism.
Defending better with ball in hand and holding structure forward of the ball in general. Also we were very bad in a lot of attacking statistics but were 3rd in the league for marks inside 50 per inside 50 which is a sign of good ball movement something that has been lacking for a long time.

It was our very own JLo.

It was our very own JLo.

And a sports psychologist - which they didn't have access to during Covid. I'm feeling confident they'll fix Lobb's goal shot routine between now and next season.

from memory, did Kennedy's stutter even effect his goal kicking accuracy the same way it did Lobb? I seem to remember him doing ok regardless it just looked weird.

Yep you're on the money there. Huge kerfuffle about it but he was still one of the more accurate kicks for goal.

Still don't understand why pretty much every commentator references Hogan's trial down back in the middle of his ressies stretch as a major indictment on his form as a forward. It made perfect sense given we had almost no key backs, winning form, his injury layoff, and J-Lo's tendency to not make many changes and always take the long-term view with selection.

I found our team selection frustrating at times this year but could definitely see there was strategy behind it, which imo sometimes trumped week-to-week tactics that may have seen Jesse get a run earlier.

Not to mention that it was also Hogan's idea according to JLo.
