More people barrack for the other clubs combined, than barrack for Collingwood.

More people dislike Eddie than barrack for Collingwood.

Your argument doesn't hold water.

More people wouldn't give a shit about this poll.

The poll isn't public.

Most likely the majority of votes have come from Collingwood/Carlton supporters.

lol parrot you are miles behind collingwood as far support goes
carlton was second to collingwood up until the early 90`s but now essendon and collingwood are the power houses of the afl and carlton has lost alot of power.
outside of victoria collingwood and essendon are the 2 most popular clubs quite easily..
and as you can see by this poll, crowd figures, members, surverys carlton are only marginally ahead of richmond for suport now
Carlton had more members than Essendon this year.

Essendon won't even have a coach come trade time, yet they think they're the most attractive destination for a prospective coach.

Carlton holds the attendance record for Telstra dome as well as the G and have a huge following in Perth.

Essendon have the territory.

Pratt could afford to sponsor Collingwood if he wanted to, but he only gets the best, not the best available.

Eddie was boned and lost Swann from right under his nose.

Case closed.

In Pratts time we've seen:

On field
- A losing culture fully developed within the club
- A losing streak now in double figures and climbing
- The appointment of a rookie coach with a win ration of 0%

Off field
- Charity handouts made merely to keep the club operating.

If anyone has done any economics 101 you will understand that printing money doesnt make everyone rich. As a business entity this club is not yet viable.

In Pratts time we've seen:
...

1. Restoration of Carlton as a financial powerhouse
2. Appointment of the best administrators in the AFL
3. A complete restructure of the Club and the booting of Demetriou's proxy administration
4. A massive influx of sponsorship dollars
5. Ongoing improvement in facilities and resources
6. Appointment of a new coach
7. Continued accumulation of the very best raw talent in the AFL

Not a bad start. :)

Accept?
They don't accept it, they cherish it.

Losing for Carlton is now like winning for everyone else, their supporters crave getting thumped.
It's a pathetic club supported by pathetic people.

Don't worry Carlton there will be plenty more defeats for you to cheer this season.

And I think you need to stop painting all of us with the same brush.

The Pies have had ZERO success under Eddies Decade of Spin, in large part due to an endless series of list management disasters. In fact the Pies have only had one successful year in about the last half-century. Pies supporters "Cherish" their weekly HUN-Collingwood-Newsletter-Overhype-liftouts, but seem "Accepting" of their long long history of failure. An interesting mix. :)

you can pick and choose a period of time you like Parrot, why not Carlton have 2 more premierships than Collingwood in the last 110 years? or Carlton and Collingwood have both won 1 premiership and lost 2 GFs in the last 20 years? or Collingwood have won more premierships than Carlton in the past 17years?

Eddie has had the same amount of success as Collins, Smorgan and Pratt

You are joking. Eddie was sacked from the 9 CEO job because he didn't have the capability for that job. Eddie's job nowdays is a GameShow host. Swan left Pieland because he wanted to work with Pratt, who is a billionaire and one of the most successful businessmen in Australia. Eddie has no business success. He used his media skills and Collingwood for blatant self-promotion purposes. Behind the spin, there is little substance, hence his sacking from the CEO job at nine, and the plans to give him the boot at Pieland. The facts are Eddie has achieved ZERO success at Pieland, despite well over a decade of spin now. And this is on a bleak history of only one successful year in about the past half-century at Pieland. Pretty dismal facts actually aren't they. :)

just out of interest...what has any of that got to do with the way Eddie has run the football club? he took over a basket-case club and turned it back into a powerhouse club without tipping in $$$ himself

It shows that Eddie is all Froth and Bubble i.e. no substance. Eddie is considered a joke in the business community for a reason. Eddie's skills are in self-promotion. He was sacked from the 9 CEO job for a reason. Swan left for a reason. Your board wants to get rid of Eddie for a reason. Eddie has achieved no success at Pieland for over a decade now for a reason. Strip aware the gameshow/used car salesman veneer and there ain't much. Many Collingwood supporters are even realising this. I'd be suprised if this guy is still the Pies president in 2008. Interesting times ahead. :)

Greg Swann poached.
Pagan Sacked.
Ratten appointed.
Judd recruited after we convinced him to join Carlton and kept pick one.
Hadley signed in trade week.
Steven Icke appointed football manager.
Justin Cordy poached from Cricket Australia.
Jason McCartney signed as development coach.
Mark Riley and Montgomery signed as assistant coaches.
Whitnall sacked to send a message to the playing group
Rumoured record sponsorship just around the corner.
Four gun teenage gaelic footballers signed to contracts.

We're not doing as well at all.

The Clement rumour would be the icing on the cake.

No wonder why they had Thomas move out of Swann's place practically overnight....

The Most Powerful AFL President?

You're getting caned on this poll for the obvious reason: its way to premature. Pratt is not probven as a president yet. Still given Pratts record of involvement in Carlton you are probably wise to get your celebrating done before reality sets in.

McGuire took a poor club to a GF inside 4 years. He has the personality to work all sides of the club (finances, media, supporters, management) apart from football itself, and he poached a decent coach to do that. basically the instant he walked into Vic park the place was being talked about again, and he didn't have to put a cent of his own money in. A self made man, he knows what it takes to build a show from the ground up.

Pratt has been at Carlton for ages as a money man. He had the sense to stay out of the footy side and contribute what he knows best. He's a proven busniess leader on past record but he just got caught which may mean he's showing his age.

Its also causing minor concern for your gaming licence: that story is a storm in a teacup and an administrative adjustment will correct the trouble, but its indicative that he is not a teflon white knight.

Pratt brings money as well as his other baggage. He has that all over McGuire and in fact everyone except 2 other Australian Billionaires apparently. He didn't build Visy, he inherited it as a pretty big business, so I dunno if he knows how to build anything from scratch, which is what the Blues seem to need.

He brought money before, for his mate Elliot. He's brought Elliott back too, which is a disgrace. Pratt is not a new face in footy, he's been there and done that, and we know how Carlton ended up.

Pratt has injected cash into the Blues, and that was a massive boost. Full credit to him for putting his hand in his pocket. however its not the answer to all footy problems. If he thinks it is, he'll reach the bottom of his pocket before you get off the bottom of the ladder.

When it comes down to the crunch, why would Carlton want Clement?
Because he was inarguably amongst the league's best defenders, and conducted himself with nothing less than the utmost professionalism on and off the field?
