Which is ironic as both Warne and Murali were terrible in India.
I may have a bad memory as I was young but India's batsman of the time seem to have better ability facing spin.

Nah they’re carrying too many past it players this time around. Kohli and Rohit are cooked. Ashwin’s not very effective anymore. Shami injured. Pant will get games but isn’t fit because of his car crash. Will be a whitewash.

Kuldeep and Shami being unavailable through injury are pretty significant as well I reckon.
Kuldeep is their best attacking spinner and Shami is 100% their second best seamer, even at his advanced age.

Hot take (or maybe lukewarm take) but Stokes is a passenger in the England XI when he can’t bowl. As a bat only (leaving aside the captaincy and leadership and what not) he’s just not good enough. He’s like Maxwell that on his best day he’s clearly among the best 6 batters but those days don’t come around often enough in red ball cricket.
