IMO suspension (with the exception of drug cheats) shouldn't rule a player out from winning any award. If you are deemed the best player in a given category then you deserve to win it. It would remove the need for the AFL to manufacture tribunal outcomes for Brownlow favourites (Fyfe, Cripps, etc.). McKernan should be retroactively awarded his 1996 Brownlow and 1994 Rising Star as well.

Last year they were 16th and had a percentage they'd not seen since the Peter Schwab days. And this year, the highest ranked team they've beaten is in 13th.

The bulldogs are 10th and by rights should have beaten Port who are 3rd.
