If 4 can’t see it and make the right decisions, then go back to 3.

At least that means 18 substandard umpires aren’t getting games.

The idea behind 4 was to improve decision making. All it has done is to bring more variation into the game and allow s**t umpires to get games.

Also this mandate of putting the best umpires in the best games is ridiculous. Spread the best umpires across the games and improve the standard for every game, not just a few.
It should be a lotto.

Hard thing is getting greenwoid into the afl middle rotation where he does his best work. Struggles to get in the game to forward albeit he's not the only one. We do need his tackling

Sounded like quite the game from Greenwood. Tackling machine.

He was terrific all day long. Played his heart out and should be rewarded by a return to the senior team and left there for the rest of the year. In a team that is crying out for some older experienced heads, if he plays like he did yesterday, then he will set the tone for some of our very inexperienced boys to strive to imitate his efforts.

It's hard to believe we can't find a role for Greenwood in the ones. He's exactly the kind of experienced competitor that we want to recruit - talks, tackles, insanely competitive, physical - and is ok in short stints on the ball. The 4 i/c + 1 sub rules should also help.

The team selection has been putrid this year

He’s too slow as soon as the ball exits the stoppage and his first clearance possession is hit and miss. I don’t deny his effort and physical presence which might be worth rewarding in the ones during this middle part of the season where we just need to find a way to win and build some confidence for the group.

Plonk him in the goal square for the whole game and have him pinch hit in the ruck. He'll take one tall defender away from Souva's contests, kick a cheeky goal or two, and tackle fiercely I50 stopping the ball from being walked out. Oh, and he'll try his bloody guts out and show our forwards how hard they're expected to work.

Luke Parker to get 40 touches today?
