What does Lester have to do to get selection? Admittedly I haven't seen a lot of the Lions this year but he's gone pretty well in what I have seen.

He's played a bunch of games this year. The reviews of the reserves' performance on the Lions site is the best source.

Ryan Lester

Played mostly up forward and a bit in the middle as we’re trying to develop him further in other areas and add to his repertoire. Up forward he took some nice strong leading marks. On the ball he lacked a bit of impact with positioning and winning contested footy.

Don't know any good place to ask this - anyone know what the parking situation is for the QAFL v VAFA game at Burpengary? Is it shuttle bus from the station like at the Lions preseason game or just park at the ground? I'm hoping the latter. Can't find any info online and I assume interest in this game not as high but you never know.

Ah memories, QLD v Tas in the mid-80's at the Western Districts Chelmer oval. The hill around the ground was completely packed. I envied the kid collecting aluminium cans that day. He had about 4 old-school garbage bags full, must have been at least 89 cents in refund money.

Disregard, got the answer via AFLQ on Twitter - parking at the ground and overflow at the aquatic centre.

I see some people with the tapatalk sig posting again (such as Haso )- is the app working for Bigfooty again? I have tried mine but still won't let me post, how are people getting around this?
It simply started working for me again LH. Cant remember if the app maybe updated prior to that.

Two questions ...

1) disposal efficiency ... if do a perfect kick to you and you drop the mark does that count against my efficiency? (I suppose I am asking what the criteria are for an efficient disposal / clanger...

2) When you take a specy you go up on someone else's shoulders/back etc - has anyone every done a double one ... ie gone up on the back of someone who was in the process of doing the same thus making it three high for a short period?

Clangers are kicks that result in an uncontested possession to the opposition, i.e. out on the full and an uncontested mark by the opposition.

Efficient/effective disposals as counted by Champion Data (who generate all the stats, so it's their definition that matters), and in their own words:

If a handball or kick is received on the bounce by a teammate, is it still effective?

KJ: If the teammate was put under unnecessary pressure because of the disposal dropping short it will be called ineffective, but if it hasn't put him under pressure it will still be called effective.

What about a dropped mark? Does the kicker still get an effective stat? Or is it completely dependent on the receiver not messing up?

KJ: The actions of the receiver don't impact the decision on whether a disposal was effective. If the disposal player did everything he could to lay it on a platter for the receiver it will be effective even if it's a blatant error at the other end.

My answer to 1) I think 'kind of'. Disposal efficiency is about whether your team mate is able to benefit from your disposal rather than whether they mark or catch it cleanly exactly. If your team mate records a mark, handball, hard ball get, loose ball get or a scoring shot then your disposal is efficient and if they don't its considered inefficient. They could fumble it or drop it and still recover to get benefit. If they dropped it and got swamped by the opposition then that would be considered an inefficient disposal by you even though you might not have done too much wrong. A player's disposal efficiency is also based on other things somewhat out of their control such as the ability of their team mates to get into good position, win a contest etc

EDIT: I just noticed my answer is pretty different from dlanod above. I also based my answer on my understanding of Champion Data's definition but I could definitely be wrong.

Considering I posted a genuine numpty question, why delete the post?

It was really that controversial asking where the wooden spoon / pick no 1 thread is?
Because it wasn't a numpty question, it was venting.

And the wooden spoon thread won't be returning for a while. If you want to talk about our draft prospects, go to the draft thread.

But if you vent in the numpty thread isn't that appropriate in a round about way? Surely by definition a numpty should get cut some slack. Where can we be free to be numpties after all!

Who is this? He came up on an loosely-related Google search.

ah, thanks.
He turned up when Googled Todd Spearman who, coincidentally (maybe), also red hair and big biceps.
Was just messing with ya/carrying on a bad inside joke. Sorry, couldn't resist. ;)

It is actually Josh Green.
