As someone who actually enjoyed the Charli and Billie albums, having 16% of the countdown taken up by them just doesn't feel right. It definitely feels that people just spam voted them which is why I restrict my voting to one per artist (except this year because I couldn't leave either Starburster or Favourite out)

Good Luck Babe is one of the better winners in recent times. It's mainstream pop, sure, but I'll take it given the direction the station has taken (and, hey, it's a ripping pop song too). Miles better than the very mediocre cover at #2 (and I like some of Royel Otis but that was a mediocre cover of a pop classic).

She's not terrible but she's just another lorde, Lana del Rey, eilish clone.
A home brand Taylor Swift. Which begs the question of why play her but not Swift herself.

Addison Lana Del Rae is the cheap knock-off of LDR.

My daughter calms down whenever she hears Good Luck, Babe so it's on repeat here, she's currently eating dinner and is confused at why it just blasted out. 😂

But agree, Roan is something different and is great to see rewarded.

Charli XCX just broke G-Flips record from last year and Billie Eilish is at 7 in this countdown too. Gracie Abrams has a bunch too I think. Despite the supposed depth and breadth of music these days that's crazy numbers for a handful of artists.
It is crazy but it doesn’t mean that there is a lack of good music out there. It’s just that the same stuff gets pumped and promoted to the masses.

25+ years of Saturday sport. Discovered today what a pinged hammy feels like.
Popped that cherry.
I was the same. I’d never had any soft muscle injuries until 35 when I pinged my calf. Didn’t hurt but you realise how hard it is to actually do anything.

Also broke my collarbone which popped my broken bone cherry near the end of last year too 😂

Broken shoulder wasn't fun either.
Reckon I got to the next season and the tendon issues hadn't recovered. Reckon I had 7-8 two over spells one game.

But bending down today to grab my shorts and taking more than one attempt and I felt every day of 34.

Thats sort of my point though, there's probably good stuff out there but it isn't cutting through.

Teenyboppers tend to vote like that rather than diverse (ironic considering they're the generation crying out about diversity all the time). "OH MY GOD SHE JUST TOTALLY GETS MY LIFE"

I’ve never done my hammy thank god but a lot of the lads at soccer have and they said it was a struggle!

Yeah I am about 12 weeks recovery now. Still slowly getting back to hitting weights and increasing the size but it’s a long process.

Yeah for sure. I mostly use Spotify and stopped listening to JJJ. I had a look at the voting and I honestly had such a small shortlist from their options.

FMD if a forgettable lame song is one one of the better winners in recent times then gaping reflection of how far JJJ has fallen

Each to their own, but I think it's a very well-constructed and delivered pop song. It's got a lot more going for it than many previous winners (especially the last few years).

And, besides, Dennis Leary's arseh*le was the first winner of the yearly countdowns (not including the all-times they had earlier) so lame winners go back to the very beginning.
