Carney starting for Sheff I think :thumbsu:

Bloody Wolves, I can't pick em.

Ouch. One of those games only a 0-0 draw with many injuries will be a good result in my eyes. Ive had enough drinks to not force myself to watch it.....phew.

If i read on here tomorrow that Trundle has celebrated a goal by keeling over....i wont be that disappointed.;)

:D

Entirely understandable.

What is it about fat scousers?

Rooney, Barton, Trundle

I'm off to watch the game. If Carney is starting I can't wait to watch him play.

Well Rasiak, we're 2-0 up after 30 mins against West Brom.

John and Skacel with the goals.

If you can work us out please let me know because I've given up.

You would know that that is the proverbial impossibility.. we have always been capable of beating anyone on our day.. as well as losing to anyone on another..

Scoring goals without BWP and Rasiak is a positive..
Knocking over a fellow promotion contender also good..
John showing us what he is capable of at this level..
Idiakez injured.. Surprise surprise..

Defense continues to be a damn liability, in Burleys defense - he has brought a few in (finally), but they despite effort/talent/experience, we just cannot close the door on teams when securing a lead..

Bristol City 2 - Sheffield Utd 0

Wurzels are flying high, Carney played the full 90 minutes, while the whole of Sheffield sits on relegation alert.:thumbsu:

All the new teams are doing well. Seems like they have the pace to take it to the likes of Sheffield United who atm have a team which couldnt outrun a a one legged donkey

Another great result from the Tykes. Good for Kimmy C to get off the mark as well.

:thumbsu: Charlton away is the sort of game that would have ended in a spanking last season. A draw is a fantastic result

We've also already got trips to West Brom, Charlton, Southampton and Stoke out of the way and we have a decent run in the next 4 or 5 games

If only McCann hadn't missed from point blank range right at the death, we could've been sitting in 3rd, but alas.

Anyways, a brilliant start to the season. Our next 4 games are

Burnley (H)
Leicester (A)
Preston (H)
Blackpool (H)

Looking good! :thumbsu::):D

Very true

We must have close to the best group of strikers in the division. Not a bad effort when we sold Kenwyne for 6 million quid a month ago. Our defence has been strengthened significantly and I'm hoping it will become a bit more solid once the new guys have had time to settle in. Safri has been a good buy in the centre of midfield and it's great to have two young English kids in Surman and Dyer on the wings having such good seasons. Dyer in particular because many people had lost patience in him which was pretty harsh considering he's still only 19. I guess that's what happens when you come through the youth system alongside Walcott and Bale.

According to the statistics we're the equal second highest scorers in the league and conceded the most goals in the league. So basically if you buy a ticket to watch Southampton this season you're guaranteed entertainment. I think it's fair to say we've got a lot more ups and downs to come.

Lee Trundle came on in the 80th minute for Darren Baby Boy Byfield and sadly wasn't able to add to the scoresheet.

Very entertaining game I must say. In fact I'm yet to watch a CCC game this season that hasn't been.

Bristol City only started with Byfield upfront which I thought were negative tactics for a home side but the way they kept the ball on the pitch and terrorised the Blades defenders through McIndoe and Sproule on was impressive.

Carney certainly didn't look out of place but it will be easier to judge him when his team isn't getting thrashed. Terrible start for a team that were my favourites to win the league.

I am impressed with the flexibility in Surman and Dyer, Surman capable of playing both wings and in the middle and Dyer able to play both wings effectively. How long will Drew resist the lure of the EPL/$'s?

Having defenders on short-term loans maybe good financially, but not so if your trying to build solidity at the back.

They were.. I reckon they have a terrible squad

Peter Taylor has been sacked by Simon Jordan after our pitiful start to the season, and dissapointing season last year. Jordan was so keen to get rid of Taylor he dipped into his own pockets to pay Taylor out.

Warnock the favourite with Jewell and Hoddle also a chance. Personally feel it had to happen, we were playing crap, unexciting football. Hopefully whoever comes in gives the players a foot up the backside and we turn things around.

Saints have signed Middlesbrough centre-back Andrew Davies on a 3 month loan with a view to a permanent transfer when the window opens in January. Excellent signing, just what we needed.

Antoher sacking today, Peter Grant is gone from Norwich. I don't they've scored for 6 games or something like that and are looking very bad at the bottom of the division.

That'll make my brother happy, after he watched the QPR game I had to listen to a 20 minute rant from him on how crap his Canaries were and how Grant needed shooting. Hopefully his next phone call will be a little calmer!

Cranie signed for the R's,was great yesterday :thumbsu:

I presume it was just on loan but that's still a surprise, I thought he was going to become a Pompey legend.

He's not good enough to make it in the premiership, feel free to bookmark this thread (as if you haven't already).

'tis on loan, and we'll see about that, just gaining more experience

should be a great player for you Sainter. He just lacks 'something' to be an EPL defender atm but the confidence of playing regularly will improve him to that standard hopefully.
