At one point in my life (ie 3 days ago) I would crack the shits after losing at home to Barnsley. Especially when we fight back from 2-0 down, get it back to 2-2, have our opponent go down to 10 men only to then concede a late winner in stoppage time.

However I'm pleased to say that I'm beyond that stage now.

I will now just laugh. We lost to 10 man Barnsley at home, 3 days after being held to a bore draw at home to Colchester and 7 days after conceding two late goals to lose against ladder leaders Watford. It's funny.

We've really come a long way since the 8th placed finish, FA Cup Final and UEFA Cup football from a few years back. :thumbsu:

Sucks to be you atm. All I can say is OUCH!

Did Christian Daily start today and did he play alright. Not the best player but hes a top bloke and tries his hardest. I still think losing Baird for you guys has been the killer blow, You needed him to stay badly, much more then you needed Bale.

I don't have much hair as it.

After the last 7 days I have even less.

I agree with you Sainter, it's just easier to laugh these days.

At least we seem to be entertaining the fans.

, now we only need Fowler to do the same and they will start scoring for fun... maybe.

And on cue mr Fowler bobs up with a double.

I Had the worst of worst days at AAMI stadium, get back to the hotel bar and watch Cardiff let in a 90th minute equaliser.......happy days.:(

I vaguely remember the week we stitched up Spurs twice in a week... I don't really think I can bring myself to watch the highlights... now where was that 88/89 vid.. Le Tiss, Wallace, Shearer, Case etc etc etc etc...

Yes Dailly played, obviously couldnt do much about the 25-yard 'raspers' - but will be interesting to see if he couldve done anything about the 3rd..

One of my Hammer mates tells me 'he's a great watcher' - just what you need at the back.. ;)

Barnsley :thumbsu: Its just like watching Brazil

My internets been down and my site subscription finished on Friday and I haven't yet renewed it so I had to use my phone to get scores so of course its one of the most exciting games we've had in a long time.

A great result to get with 10 men for over 20 minutes. Doubt that would have been a win last season even with the one goal lead we had when it happened. And a good way for Devaney to respond to losing his starting place :thumbsu:

Obviously its unlikely we'll stay as high as we are, but hopefully we can have a stress free mid table season to consolidate in div 1 :)

Good news (I think) for our Southampton supporters, they've just signed ex City centre half Lucien Mettomo on a short term deal.

Handy signing, has 'been there, done that' in this division - but will be quite short of a gallop, having no pre-season under his belt.

He and much-maligned Alan Bennett are the centre-half partnership for a reserves fixture played today against Brighton - match report will be an interesting read..

Update - Saints Res 3 def Brighton Res 2, Mettomo nodding in the winner - pretty good effort by the Saints youngsters who had our only keeper stretchered off on the half-hour when Brighton took a 2-1 lead.

Yesterday we signed Phil Ifil from Spurs on a 3 month loan.

Blind Freddy could see that we had no defence before the season started and unfortunately it's taken 7 games into the season before Burley has done something about it. Perhaps I'm being tough on him. It was probably more to do with the board not releasing funds and opposing clubs not wanting to release players on loan until the transfer window was closed but we've finally addressed our glaring weakness. With two centre backs and a right back the squad now looks a lot better. It's just disappointing that we couldn't have acted earlier.

Nothing like a home loss against Barnsley to wake everybody up. ;)

I was up at 7.30 watching the Mighty Catters so no it's not too obsessive :thumbsu:

You're a Cats fan?

Can you get any worse?

I was at the GF today and then flew up to Sydney to watch Melbourne Storm play tomorrow night. I hope you'll be watching that one.

WOOHOO!

JHONNY VIAFARA!

1-2 :thumbsu:

Good win by you boys Sainter. Still 2 points behind Barnsley though :D

I'll take that. Didn't think we had a hope in hell at Brammall Lane.

Full credit to Barnsley. Keep getting the job done. :thumbsu:
