So after 3 days, the kitty is still very quiet, using a litter box and eating well.

Lots of worry about a potential bad tooth and lots of gashes, bites etc, but so far I am hopeful they'll be able to get him to the vet in the next two weeks and hopefully a path to recovery!

Amazing that isnt it. Our three cats were all outdoor cats their entire lives until we put them in at night when they got older in the rumpus room.

Not toilet trained at all, and there were never any accidents to clean up, not one. Always used the kitty litter.

Yeah it was amazing. Has the strong, unfixed stench, but they're happy that there was no accidents and excellent use of the box.

The kitty was also so comfortable that he was also sleeping on his back, which is a pretty good sign of comfortability.

Yesterday we went and bought a child gate that would stop the other cat from jumping over and causing havoc with kitty, but after 5 mins, the cat somehow jumped the 1m in the air right over the gate haha! So back to the drawing board there.

This is the setup they organised. The flap is open and he can come out, but so far he hasn't wandered out or explored. Also not too keen on the daylight (must sleep all day in the wild), but slowly getting a bit better.

So our two little douchebags basically hated each other and refused to get along, would get into fight to the death rolls within two minutes of seeing each other. Last week they went on a holiday to our usual cat lodge while we were away, the lady running it knows our cats well and decided enough was enough and put them in the same home. This is them since they've got home. Occasional dust up but now they are best buds PXL_20240106_064419245.MP.jpg PXL_20240106_093355664.jpg PXL_20240106_232023495.jpg PXL_20240106_232037330.MP.jpg PXL_20240108_070249950.jpg PXL_20240109_194233279.jpg

Friendship and respect formed from many intense cat battles. Fire-forged feline friendship.

Good luck, TGG. Hope all goes well. Wear scratch-proof clothes. Give em lots of treats afterwards.
We had to sedate him. Was way too crazy for the vet to control.

He's got cuts and gashes and no front teeth. We're waiting for the blood tests now and for kitty to get out of sedation.

Hoping it'll be ok

Well he's got FIV and lost all bottom front teeth over the years...probably in fighting.

Either way, fixed and antibiotics and waiting for the immunisations when the shortage ends.

Did the cat sitter tell you what she did specifically to get them to get along??

Other than sticking them in the same cage, not really, although the boys are back to fighting a bit this morning. Toads.

So after being traumatised at the vet and then yesterday they had a sparky come and install lights and fans everywhere, the kitty has now started wanting pats, getting pats and purring like crazy.

For a cat on the streets for three years, he's been amazing. Long road to success, but he's adapting well inside.

I'll have to upload a video of the cat soon
