Waite and Turner. Hopefully the first one's a scare rather than a recurrence, but Sugar's is likely to keep him out way beyond his club imposed ban. As I said, we'll have to wait and see what's reported after each has been assessed.
Your sources are impeccable! Must be what you do when you 'running' late at night...

Maybe the question needs to be asked whether Waite should have played?

When I think our injuries could not get any worse, I am consistently proven wrong :(

Evening all.

Today a workmate with family links to the club including a a member of the game day crew said last weekend we played several sore/injured players in the ones ... and twos. Club not talking about it to avoid sounding like whingers. E.g. Majak played hobbled for Bees, was no chance to chop-out Goldi.

List is long ...

Upside: at least a few kids will be blooded (if they not all injured - word was some of them are playing sore/injured too in the twos).

Let's face it, worst case we can't drop below 11 or 12th, it's not that low in the draft. We might as well fight it out, see if we can jag another prelim...

Ah...... thanks, but no thanks. Another prelim loss would scar most of us for " ALL ETERNITY "
Draft picks please.

It goes without saying, but given the appallingly decimated list you would hope there is an extensive review of our fitness and recovery methods at seasons end.

Been mentioned before but the spate of hammy and specifically hammy tendon injuries clearly points at an overloading of associated muscles via training and preparation.

Think it was Meehan (who has since gone to the Nets) who was in charge of the loads/strength and conditioning over preseason but the whole area was overseen by Saunders.

Looks like the boys done goofed.

Football Dept. needs to create and fill a new Position with the very best candidate ASAP..... "Hamstring injury prevention manager"
There's this bloke by the name of Dank that I've heard good things about and right on the cutting edge of sports science. Worth a look?

Updated injury list (with apologies for the terrible copying from the AFL site)

No sign of Waitey. Benny J and Sammy W (allegedly) just 3 weeks away.

The scary bit though is that they all except Taylor Garner have to cross through the dreaded 2 week barrier.

Injury Estimated Return
Aaron Black Ankle 4 weeks
Taylor Garner Knee/hamstring 1 week
Shaun Higgins* Knee 4 weeks
Ben Jacobs Foot 3 weeks
Luke McDonald Hamstring 4 weeks
Farren Ray Hamstring 5 weeks

Mason Wood Knee 7 weeks
Sam Wright Ankle 3 weeks

Wonder how come Taylor Garners Knee has suddenly entered the frame, hopefully a typo ?

Garner is technically 4 weeks away from AFL football. He'll need 3 weeks in VFL. His hammies are ****ed either way, similarly to Turner. I reckon they'll go again :(

Jacobs and Wright hopefully be back for round 22 game against Sydney. One VFL match and Two AFL games before finals to get them ready.

McDonald and Higgins seem touch and go. Cant have 4-5 underdone players in the team. Not holding out any confidence in seeing them back this year.

Put a fork thru Black, Ray, Turner and Wood. The latter is really disappointing but that's footy.
