Great win by the Northern Blue boys. Gee they must miss Ellard when he gets games for our seniors.

Great final quarter from the Northern Blues. Really dug deep and were prepared to put up a fight, which caught the werribee tigers off guard.
David Ellard - B.O.G for me, put his body on the line all day. Final quarter, single handedly brought us back in it. 3 goals in the final term.
Rhys O'Keeffe- Hard at it all day, continued to put his body on the line.
Luke Mitchell was well held all day but didn't let it get to him, which is a positive sign from the youngster. He kept his head up and increased his pressure and finished off the game better than he started.
Dylan Buckley- was fairly quiet all day, didn't see too much of the ball, but really lifted his intensity in that final quarter, kicking some nice goals.

Crows can get ****ed if they want to trade McKernan for McCarthy. Paddy is raw boned, but a likely type with his mobility and height. Took a big mark amongst some other cameos in the last quarter.

Just need to get McCarthy on Stuart Dew's diet for a month or two.

Better handballer than Mitchell and Watson after he picked it up off the deck and didn't turn it over. Watson and Mitchell almost throw the ball into the air before they knock the ball away.
McCarthy could be a lead up forward/second ruck once he fills out. Pretty mobile for a tall.

One game observations only, from a Blues list perspective.
McCarthy a keeper will be a gun....soon
O'Keeffe solid great utility depth to have on rookie list
Mitchell....understand why has not had a game yet. "It" is all there, but needs game time.
Buckley....potential
Bootsma....more potential
Carter......saw enough to suggest enough for rookie retention. Particularly as a small lock down defender.
AJ.....have supported strongly, but no more poise at lower level....hmmmmm
Davies...solid at best
Lucas....too many question marks for mine, if he is the player many claim he should have more input.
Russell, Thornton, Bower....all handy, but agree with consensus, nothing to alter this seen today.
Collins.....keeper
Ellard....top 22 player, but who the hell do we leave out. Bell should be a lock and was sub.

great to see McCarthy showing some signs after being moved forward.
He was one I was keen to see during the nab cup earlier in the year but couldn't find his way into the games as a backman.
What a draft 2010 could end up being: Watson, McCarthy, Mitchell, McInnes, Duigan, Curnow.
