Re: The Official Northern Bullants Thread III

Has Austin done enough to survive?

Worth a rookie listing if he's delisted, yet I expect another club to pick Aussie before we get our turn in that draft.

O'Keeffe looks exhausted.

Mclean will carry that left ankle injury for the rest of his days. :(

Watson needs another two pre-seasons to get the miles into those tree trunks.

Re: The Official Northern Bullants Thread III

Free against saad just absolutely killed us....

They are keeping us in the game tho...

The "in-the-back" free paid against Saad, when it was a tangle of legs, was complete and utter bullshit.

Would have walked into goal had it not been incorrectly paid.

Re: The Official Northern Bullants Thread III

I really do worry about Watson sometimes. Always seems really slow and lathargic around the contest. Not the smartest footballer either in terms of his positioning. Just a really lazy footballer it seems at times.

+1 on that Reg.

He's only a baby so he needs time to develop, but gee he seems to get himself into bad positions.
Was really disappointing in the one on one contest.
I'm not seeing it at the moment.
Hopefully will have a massive pre-season and get some run in those legs.
Great effort by the Bullants today, the were spent in the last 1/4

He just seems so timid in the contests ..we need to get him in a cage with Mitch Robinson..and get him to teach him how to attack a contest.

I'm not worried, he's 19 FFS.

He's just not physically where he needs to be at the moment but that will come.

He's a good mark, a super kick and a really good decision maker.

He'll make it.

Re: The Official Northern Bullants Thread III

I don't think Austin will be on our list next year.
Has enough ability to get a spot on the rookie list.

Yet I doubt that we would re-draft a delisted player who has been at Carlton since 2006.

GWS should list Austin to fill a spot.

Thornton has gone forward, so why can't Austin who is bigger and a better athlete?

Haven't seen Austin take those sort of high marks since he played forward in the VFL in 2007.

My thoughts exactly.

Do you think OKeefe has a spot on our list?

His marking was great yesterday, but I think his time is up.

In regards to O'Keeffe (so sick of ABC and Sportingpulse getting his name wrong), he should stay. He works hard, plays well and generally does well in his shut down role.

Another year.

+1 - A lot of his issues will be ireoned out this coming preseason.

Its mostly tank and confidence I feel. .. He reads the play well, so I feel its these factors that lead to his weakness one-on-one and the perceived lethargy. ..

He was solid in his three games this years, matched it against GCS (his age group of players) and his other opponent was the form team of the comp and he wasn't completely embarrassed apart from the turn overs. ..

The possession numbers he is getting for the Ants is a huge positive and the obvious fall away toward the end of the games points at fitness. ..

Re: The Official Northern Bullants Thread III

you could say that but we got him to be good enough to win Brownlow votes
sorry for being negative general
