Shaun Atley, is he a good option for SC? 22 games?

Currently deciding between him, Caddy & Lucas.

I suggest you wait till Friday night to see how they go IOTW. Long odds for Sierakowski and Lynch, considering the competition for spots and the fact we're yet to play a meaningful game against an opposition side, but that can all change if they seize their opportunities during the preseason.
not after friday nights game i.m.o he is the guy you need with the elite kicking of half back which i think is your main weakness and im sure most if not all of you would agree really hope he gets fit soon for s/c and more importantly you guys :thumbsu:

Exactly why both he and McKenzie were recruited. It's NAB Cup, filled with experimentation. I hope Sirra forces his way in sooner rather than later. Time will tell.

You can count on Patch being as productive as last year. He's Mr Consistency. It'd help if your players didn't knock him out first though.

Hey guys. How's Liam Anthony travelling? He's priced at around $360k and is capable of averaging 100 IMO. Did average 95 or so 2-3 years back but only played around 20 games in those 2 seasons so one would think he's injury prone (recall him having some LTI's).

Is he best 22 for 2012? And was it injury or being dropped that kept him to only playing 10 or so games in 2011?

Cheers and thanks in advance!

He's been moved to the backline. He's no certainty to be in the best 22 and he'd struggle to average 100 in defence.

Cheers for the info Daz! Might still consider him but Hayes looks to be locked in for now, especially since they're nearly the exact same price :)

Hey guys

Any thoughts on Boomer for DT this year? Is he still worth the punt or is he getting to old now?

Cheers

There really isn't much buzz about North players for DT this year. Thats probably because we have so many mid-tier priced players. Our elites are basically limited to Swallow and Goldy and at the rookie end there isn't too much to get excited about.

Here are the ones i think are worth focusing on at this stage:

- Swallow: Think he will go up to a 105ppg+ average
- Gibson: Easy choice for a rookie slot in the midfield
- McIntosh: Should average 80ish but is mid-priced and to me 80 is not a 'keeper' average. That means you'd have to think about sticking to a gun-rookie strategy...considering Giles and the Big O at their base prices.
- Ziebell: Has upside but again mid-priced. Unique pick and could potentially by a keeper. You'd needs nuts of steel to pick him though.
Hansen: Has potential and if there is going to be a year for him to come good in DT, this is the one. He is also a dual-position in DT which is good. Im personally not confident at all.
Sierakowski: Unsighted at this time so hard to tell. But should be on the radar at least for later in the season.
Anthony: Super DTer that is struggling for a spot in the North team. Unless he is flying in NAB Cup, and locks up a spot, there is no point. Tempting price for a potential 100+ppger.
Bastinac, Cunnington, Atley, Harper: All awkwardly priced. Dont believe any of them are better options than others available from other clubs, although all should go up in value. If i went out on a limb and picked one maybe.......Cunnington at the price
MacKenzie: Should come into contention at some stage as a downgrade trade option
Goldstein: Bad pick at this stage. Was our only real ruck man last year and won't get that chance in 2012. Much better off with a Cox/Sandi/Leuy. Having said that, he could still be >100ppg
Black: Goodish price. Could go ok if he gets games but don't think he competes well with the numerous options available elsewhere in the DT forwards at base price.
Harvey, Petrie: Will go ok, but limited to no upside.

So really, its all about Gibson, McIntosh and Swallow at North

Hi,

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are about Brad Mangan. ie how's his preseason been, whether or not we are likely to see him in the NAB cup or in the real season at all?

Cheers

Brad's yet to be seen at senior level, following a slow start to his preseason. He's a little behind in the fitness stakes but, if his VFL form warrants it, I've no doubt Scott would love to see him in action at some stage, knowing what he's capable of through our alignment with Werribee. He'd be a gamble selection Deliverance. Most seem to have Gibson as our possible bolter/gamble.

Does anyone know what the deal with Gibson was today folks? Was pretty comfortable with having him in my side, just not sure if he's injured/whatever was responsible for so little ground time today.
