German troops firing German made weapons against Russia effectively means Germany is at war with Russia. Same for UK forces in Ukraine. The German and British governments haven't told their people that NATO is at war with Russia. Rishi Sunak is going into an election with a policy of compulsory military conscription, which hasn't been seen since 1960.

But back on topic, it's a really shit look for Dortmund to be sponsored by a company that specialises in killing people.
German troops are not firing German weapons... Why are you such a conspiracy theorist.

There's no such policy.

Thanks.

As expected, a massive fudge. City and United can play in the same comps as their co-owned clubs under a transitional arrangement but "there will not be as much leeway given in future seasons".

Girona and Nice should he operated via a “blind trust” by a panel approved by Uefa.

Laughable.

Would have thought that's a fairly significant concession in both cases.

Be surprised if we accept the blind trust arrangement, the other option was to reduce CFG shareholding to less than 30%, which is the path I expect us to take.

There's no concessions or blind trust arrangements. UEFA said they would crack down on multi-club ownership this coming season. Predictably, they have fudged by kicking it down the road again.

That's not what has been reported.

Crowds improving on last year I'll wait to see once the season finishes. Attendances at the back end of the season are always poorer for a few reasons - clubs out of contention, other codes starting up etc. We may well see that crowds haven't improved by then.

As for 5 years ago, for the league overall, they're absolutely not stable. I've already shown that data. They're down 13.1% from 5 years ago. That's not stable.

Excellent, lets have a look. Going off average attendances.

Year on Year:
Sydney - -16.46%
Wanderers - -13.58%
Adelaide - -6.31%
Victory - 29.47%
City - 6.1%
Mariners - 18.23%
Phoenix - 68.64%
Jets - -7.28%
Roar - 15.65%
Glory - 27.05%
Macarthur - 18.41%
Western United - 3.35%

Big losses in Sydney/WSW, Victory up well.

CCM and Wellington up purely due to good seasons - long may that continue for them both. Particularly in NZ with the Auckland side coming in. To back that up, excluding finals, both average crowd figures for the season drop significantly.

Roar/Glory/Macarthur etc are playing with such small figures the percentages look far better than the crowds realistically are. Again, hopefully they can build some momentum.

As a whole, the league is still averaging well down across the board on it's best seasons.

Yep, it's down on the best seasons, which is something neither Zidane or I argued with, the point we both made was that the league has been on an upwards trajectory the last 5 years which has continued this year.

You'll always find that the teams doing well get the best crowds (go figure) because there's no pro/rel so there's no stakes for teams going shit for their supporters to turn up. I think next year is the big one for the league, needs to kick on a bit and have those Sydney/Victory crowds start to turn around.

The league was also making the point that fees for players is up something ridiculous like 80% on last year so that's now a massive source of income for the clubs which should hopefully provide some stability for clubs going forward which can allow them to do more to help market the clubs and games to supporters.

Didn't say you had.

I did go to do 5 years ago but I believe the 19/20 season was covid impacted? Didn't seem much point.

Yeah hopefully that helps - did they end up sorting a new ongoing solution to the broadcast issue?

Think you're flogging a dead horse here mate.

Also, the 2024 GF was watched by a peak of 1.12 million viewers with an average of 775,000 on CH10.

A-League academy players are now being extensively scouted by European clubs. We're producing lots of quality these days.

Glory went into admin this season and was bought by a new owner. They'll be back. Macarthur have suffered by starting up during lockdown. They'll be attempting to go down the CC Mariners path, they'll eventually probably get there.

I trust you first port of call for a team to support would be one that wears navy blue :D:D:D

Interesting to see that the NY Times, one of our biggest critics, and the paper behind a lot of UEFAs leaks in their case against us is the second largest shareholder in Liverpool.

Who would have thought it. :D

Are we in 2012 or 2024?
