Every year, there are 1 or 2 teams that fail to live up to their own hype, just like the 2 teams that exceed everyone's expectations.

Anyone got predictions for 2009's most overrated and underrated teams?

Underrated. Roo's, Carlton (only in Bay 13 where they are percieved as a bottom 6 side by non-Carlton supporters)

Had a few eagles supporters in the last week tell me that they'll make the 8 this year. Over rated - WCE's & Carlton

Roos are under rated every year and still do ok. Under rated Roos and Tigers.

Overrated:
Hawthorn - Great team, no doubt another top 3 finish, but have not cured cancer or AIDS as you would think b the amount of kudos.
Fremantle - Isn't it that time of year where there 1.05 to make the 8?

Underrated:
Brisbane - Brown, Bradshaw up forward, Black, Power in the middle. The injection of Vossy may spark a top 5 finish.
Kangaroos/Sydney - Always underrated.

Baby please, it was a lovely essay but unfortunately fell short.

It's very nice for you to sit over in the Carlton board and get high of each others flatulence, but this is the real word sweetcakes, and that dribble doesn't cut it.

Underrated - Collingwood

Underrated: Carlton on Bay 13 (although I think it's more just hating Carlton than actually thinking they'll do badly, Brisbane in the real world.

Overrated - Fremantle. How the hell a side that has lost 11 of its most experienced players in the off-season and replaced them mainly with picks in the draft in the 50s and above.... all of a sudden becomes a top 8 chance is beyond comprehension.

Underrated - West Coast. Still have 16 of the premiership side in the squad and most of the team still in the prime of their careers. People have forgotten how injury ravaged we were last year and at 1 stage had only 2 players left in our squad to choose from. Injuries got so bad we had to lift a NSW scholarship holder off the rookie list to fill our team some weeks... yet people think we will finish bottom again.

Ahmmmmm........no, we don't have players that can cure incurable diseases.

We do, however, have some players, quite a lot of them actually, that can play football very well.

That's what they are paid to do.

Please show me any Hawthorn supporter's post that claims otherwise.

Overrated - Fremantle and St Kilda. It is possible to not overrate the AFL's perennial rabbles? Don't be fooled by Fremantle - a quick glance over their list will reveal it's still clogged full of old, aging has beens (and more than few never beens). On the flip side, the kids they do have are generally too young to have much of an impact. Bottom 4 for the Dockers in 09.
