Should we wear the Bars this year or wait until we play in front of a home crowd?

That they were asked to sign the rights away but refused.
They've instead held onto the previous agreement re Heritage rounds.
They were filling us in on the complexities of the situation.

The AFL was asking? or Collingwood?

If that's the case then the more public pressure, keeping the jumper visible and sticking with the fight is so important, there might be complexities but there is also an avenue to keep perusing it - which is why they wanted it closed i'm guessing.

How about they look at it like 'Well Eddie, it is substantially different from Collingwoods jumper visually, and they are not the Magpies, so I htink we need to grow up and move on'.....

I guess the trouble is Eddie runs a fear and attack campaign like Trump and they AFL just wish we'd go away.....

What a national comp it is....

Imagine the supporters wear the bars t-shirts and jumpers to every game, it could literally be a visual statement they couldn't keep ignoring, especially on live TV. Funny how Eddie likes to talk about 'times have changed' when it comes to shorter quarters etc... just can't change his own opinions on other matters...

The fact that they were asking us to sign away the rights means we haven't already done so in the past as Eddie and Collingwood supporters so regularly suggest.

Maintain the rage, this is just a matter of time.

Looked on the port store website for an adult PB- none for sale at the moment by the looks of it.

They have them in the physical store. Ring the store and they should be able to help you out. Matthew Richardson tweeted as much yesterday or the day before.

There's quite a bit of momentum behind this at the moment and we're getting support from unlikely allies. The club and it's supporters need to really keep pushing this.

“Some of his arguments though are not based in fact, he’s saying ‘there can only be one Magpies in the competition’.

“Of course there can only be one Magpies, we’re not talking about Magpies or using a Magpie emblem like we do in our SANFL team, it’s just using the prison bar, so that’s fact number one.”

The Sunrise co-host then dismissed McGuire’s claim that Collingwood had a history of giving permission for Port to use its iconic guernsey.

Koch said the reasoning behind a 2007 agreement between Port Adelaide, Collingwood and the AFL over the Port guernsey is because Collingwood had been rejecting applications for its use.

“Fact number two is the claim that whenever we wanted to use our prison bar, and requested to use it, he’s always agreed.

“That isn’t the case, we were denied wearing our prison bar in heritage rounds in 2004, 2005 and 2006 and that was the reason for the 2007 agreement to use it.

Also that Collingwood allowed us to wear the prison bar in the 2014 elimination final at Adelaide Oval is also wrong, because even though it was our home final, the AFL told us Richmond didn’t have an away guernsey and wanted us to play in our away guernsey.

“We refused and the compromise with the AFL was that we could wear our prison bar. “So let’s not rewrite history, let’s let the AFL decide and we think we’ve got a case to make.”

Long-term plan
Koch then doubled down on his intentions to use the historic guernsey well into the future, with a statement that is sure to ruffle more Collingwood feathers.

“We’ll be applying to the AFL to use the prison bar next year in a Showdown and hopefully for Showdowns forever more,” Koch told 7NEWS.com.au.

“We have an agreement with the AFL that gives us the right to wear prison bars during heritage rounds, so at least once a year.

“The problem was Heritage Rounds were abandoned in 2008, so we think Showdowns under that agreement for South Australian football has real heritage significance, it’s a Showdown that brings the state together, it’s just in South Australia and we should be allowed to wear the prison bar.

Even at the time, Eddie himself said it had nothing to do with him.

Bit rich that he's now trying to paint himself as the magnanimous supporter of our cause when he's been the only reason we have this hoo hah each and every time.

That's why in his rant he was talking about 'hand shake' agreements.

He's probably just had a quick coffee with Cos and shook on it.

No need for anything so materialistic as coffee.

The E. just yells at the wall: “Cardone!” and tells his CEO what’s what in ‘handshake’ dialect.

They sit in offices next to each other, don’t forget.

IF ...

there is one issue I now have zero care for ...

THEN ...

it is Eddie getting all worked up and thinking he has a God-given right to tell another football club how its Guernsey can and can't look.

IF ...

you actually want to wear the prison bars Guernsey in every single game ...

THEN ...

do it. Take Eddie on. I've got zero legal training, but can't see how the courts could care for this matter.

For once ... :thumbsu: Damian Barrett makes sense ...

I was literally just thinking "would love to be a fly on the wall at their next 'sit-down'".

Well that should be the AFL and Port Adelaide. No one else matters and needs to be there.
