Oh so it is about distance travelled in kms again!? Even you WA fans cant agree!!
The only real solution to reduce the kms travelled is to relocate to the east coast where 14 of the 18 teams are based.
Tassie is not an issue, direct flight makes it a shorter trip than going to Sydney.
WA sides should never play a QLD side, for "fairness".
And WA sides should get extra home games to make it "fair".
Cant make this sh1t up.
They only exist when there is a game on ffs.
Not really as that wasn't my argument. that was someone else's for why they understand the effects plum. They said they are fifo and have to fly across the country. I was just saying to them I'm also fifo and it's the working hours that stuff you around not the flights.About as good as your 'I'm a Fifo, so I understand the effects of travel on elite athletes'.
You are claiming the flight is effectively a charter, fair dinkum unbelievable !!
Is it just Perth Launceston you claim this is used on ?
But thats my point the physical recovery is something all players no matter what team must tackle. A flight isn't going to change it to much. If it did you wouldn't see the eagle be as successful as they have been through out their time in the AFL.I found keeping my body clock on Sydney time was best for me but didn't have to deal with a physical recovery issue.
We have gotten direct flights there in the past. You are wrong. It is part of the virgin contract. When the contract was with qantas we weren't getting direct flights.

Qantas used to do them too.We have gotten direct flights there in the past. You are wrong. It is part of the virgin contract. When the contract was with qantas we weren't getting direct flights.
Qantas used to do them too.
In one of my previous posts their are links to other threads showing they were doing them as far back as 2003.
Whycan'titbeboth.gifI ask myself. Are some Victorian that dumb or is it just arrogance

Yep I think that was part of the AFL deal with Virgin in 2011, every team had to get direct flights to every location.qantas didnt do them every game. We got them occasionally through qantas. Since virgin took over it's been every game.

But you cant provide a link? I cant find a Perth Launceston or return link , come on harve, a man of your talent ....
You keep flip flopping, is distance travelled in kms your problem? Why, you seem to be able to make plenty up.
So it's not fair for West Coast to play at home more than 11 times but it's ok for Collingwood to play Carlton or Essendon at home at the MCG and 'away' at the the MCG?You keep flip flopping, is distance travelled in kms your problem?
You do understand the geography of Australia!? If a WA team wants to play in a national competition they are going to have to come to the east coast where the people are.
Is it flights to Tassie? Well that direct flight is shorter than to Sydney!
Is it longetivity? West Coast have had more 250 game players than Collingwood.
Or are you like Kwality who doesnt get that you fly direct to Tassie and he thinks it is fair for West Coast and Geelong to have 15 games at home!
Out of interest I took a bit of a look around and foundHow on earth can you provide a link to a historical flight?
There probably are databases around with that info, but i'm not aware of them.
So it's not fair for West Coadt to play at home more than 11 times but it's ok for Collingwood to play Carlton or Essendon at home at the MCG and 'away' at the the MCG?

Why haven't you also stated the 2 home games we play at ES?So it's not fair for West Coadt to play at home more than 11 times but it's ok for Collingwood to play Carlton or Essendon at home at the MCG and 'away' at the the MCG?
Out of interest I took a bit of a look around and found
http://www.flightstats.com/go/Home/home.do
which lists pretty much every flight in the world dating back a fair way, for Australia it goes back to about the start of 2005.
You have to create a free account to search historical flight info, so I did and searched Perth to Launceston flights and discovered that Qantas and Virgin have provided direct return flights for the Eagles and Freo to every Launceston game since the records began in 2005. For each game the teams travelled there 2 days before and returned the evening of the game, all on direct flights.
So for all the non believers out there (not you Rob) there you have it.
OFFICIAL RECORDS OF DIRECT FLIGHTS FROM PERTH TO LAUNCESTON FOR BOTH PERTH TEAMS SINCE AT LEAST 2005.
There is also evidence of direct flights dating back to 2003 based on threads I linked to in my previous posts.
You do realise that WC play 'away' against Fremantle at their home ground every year. How is that any different??So it's not fair for West Coadt to play at home more than 11 times but it's ok for Collingwood to play Carlton or Essendon at home at the MCG and 'away' at the the MCG?
