The race for top 4

They said the same about the crows last year, and Sydney the year before.

You don’t want to be the best team in July, you want to be the best team late August and September. The team who finds their form in that time period will win the premiership... hopefully that’s port
Difference with the Tigers, they play there best footy at the G, they should finish top 2, only injuries will stop them from winning the flag, the other
teams are miles off the Tigers!

We get the Pies have been consistent and haven’t dropped games against bottom 10 sides.

My problem is they can’t mix it with top 4 sides and it will be utterly predictable when finals reveal they are not in that class.

You need a soft draw to get into the top 4 with a record like that.
Other than Richmond the only top 4 teams we have played we beat.. they have fallen since those games. We will see how we go vs swans, WC and port soon enough.

Most of those games will be at the G, they will be favourites, They won't win all the games. Its a weak season, its the Tigers well ahead, and the rest are just
making up the numbers in the 8.
They should easily account for West Coast who are rubbish at the G and have no depth to cover their injuries but the games against Sydney & Port(Away) & Richmond & North (Mcg) should be more challenging.

Even Freo away in the last round might not be easy depending on what shape Freo are in may be a few players farewell game.

I am not arguing that they don’t look unstoppable right now, they do. But a lot can change in football. One team could easily find form from now to finals.

Tigers not playing their best footy yet. My opinion, I rekon the Cats are the only team that challenge them this year, the others in the 8 just making up the numbers. Port struggle to play well at the G, just like West Coast.

Melbourne may have been top 4 but they have not beaten a single team currently in the 8 and in most cases have been belted by the teams they have played.

The media jumped on them after they pumped a bunch of bottom sides and an injury riddled and struggling Adelaide.

They are this years great pretenders the Demons.

Swans, port, north & sydney games are the ones i will be watching with interest.

I agree I don’t rate Melbourne, I rate crows though

Theres still a third of the season to go. Upsets will happen. No-one is a lock in any position.

No team should be able to get to this stage of the season with a record like that and be in top 4.

Pies being set up to fail in finals with scheduling like that.

Have not ventured to Sydney or Perth either. Ludicrous.
Have you seen what usually happens in Sydney when the Pies play there and I think may happen when we play in Perth.
The team is playing with plenty of ticker this year, that is what got us over the line today, not many thought that happen and if we get some troops back we have improvement in us still and we have some momentum up.

The port game will be at the G.

Haven’t played finals for 4 years.
Finished bottom 6 last year.
Easy draw this year is the result.
I suggest you try it.

They got a bottom 6 draw going on last years results repeat games are (1 top 6, 1 middle 6, 3 bottom 6).

Will get a much tougher draw next year.
