Mad men just as good but in a different way. You feel me?
I've never watched Mad Men. I bought the box set of DVDs and have never opened them. I should give it a go. I'm never quite in the mood.

Roger Rogerson and Chook Fowler we reckon
Mad Men is a great show. Nothing what I expected. Don Drapers back story & character development through the series is awesome. Peggy Olson & Roger Sterling kill it as well. Some memorable characters.I've never watched Mad Men. I bought the box set of DVDs and have never opened them. I should give it a go. I'm never quite in the mood.
Chook Fowler was in the 90's the dodger, Neddy Smith, Lanfranchi, and Sally Anne Huckstep were early 80'sI remember the secret camera video of Chook Fowler at that time, those cops were more crooked than the crims. I heard a cop at the time talking about the case saying he'd blown the whistle when other cops were turning up at the station driving luxury cars on a constable's wage.
I’m intrigued. Where can I watch this?Who has watched this one

Just started watching Battlestar Galactica. Bloody hell nothing, and I mean nothing that I thought it would be. It's like a morality tale in line with Blade Runner and faith v the dark void of space. Also with Si Fi spaceships and huge battle scenes.
The BSG canon is as awesome as Star Trek was before the idiotic Kelvin timeline stuffed everything.
How I never saw this in the noughties is beyond me.
Can’t say I’ve ever given Battlestar Galactica a chance I will need to reconsider. Not a massive sci-fi fan but I enjoyed season 1 of Altered Carbon. That was intense.Absolutely, and an absolutely killer ending to the show and Don's character arc.

In the '80s there was a series, I remember watching it back in the day, they replayed it for years in oz. It was campy and a bit silly but sci fi fans love the more modern one. I couldn't never get over the old one enough to give it a go. I might have to get onto it. I need another 12 hours in a day to catch up on retro TV series now.
Agreed, the old one was totally crap, so 70's campy BS. Turned me off the new one. Made in 2003, just after the towers fell and it has references to terrorism, rendition, heavy torture etc. Pretty dark in some stuff.
A 'reimagining' but Adama wasn't a black lesbian. The change was that the Cylons were AI invented by humans who rebelled, had a war, truce and f’ed off to the other side of the galaxy.
Hadn't been heard of for 40 years then turned up looking like humans and chaos ensues. The are twelve human colonies named using the zodiac, there is norse, roman, and greek mythology involved as well as Monotheism v Polytheism worship v Atheism, and what is a human or intelligent sentient being and who has worth.
There is no goodie v baddie just shades of grey. Add in lots of gunplay, and huge space battle scences and the Si Fi nerd in me get excited.
And it all happened 200,000 years ago. FMD, what a well written piece of Si Fi.
Was watching it one Friday night with some mates. One mate whose girlfriend was watching it with us, says about one female character, "Ï'd like to do her". Our eyes turn to said girlfriend, who says with raised eyebrows "really", the mate than says "In a threesome with you of couse dear".
The girlfriend's eyebrows lift up even more and one of us says "when you are in a hole stop digging", while the rest of us make shoveling motions. We all burst out laughing.
It gets good reviews.

That’s awesome Diehard.I loved it. Even though it was set a few decades before I worked in advertising ( Ogilvy and Mather CT) it was spot on.
What goes on is seriously eye-opening. Never seen people smoke or drink so much, even whilst pulling all-nighters, which happened often.
Had a pub n the first floor, “The Buzz” which was open every Friday after work - free drinks. It led out onto the flat roof of the photographic studio. Depending on how brave, or plastered, you were, if you stripped off and ran to the end and back you were initiated as a member of the Rooftop Club. I plead the fifth about whether I ever did it!!
It was amazing to work with some of the most outstandingly talented and creative people. My boss, the creative director, was this ugly looking guy, about as tall as a hobbit, (no Don Draper) but he had the most unbelievably sexy voice, and we used him as the voice for one of our beer accounts.
They knew how to party and spend money. Our main client was Volkswagen, and for the 10th anniversary with them they took the entire agency, tea lady and all, around 120 people I think, up to the top of Table Mountain where we formed a human VW logo. They filmed the commercial from a helicopter and aired it during the 8.00pm news slot.
I lived on my nerves and adrenaline, really learnt how to swear there. Were some of the best years of my life.
