15 minutes in to first ep of True Detective season 4. Complete and utter dogshit. Don’t bother.

It's a shame, the setting of this season is incredible. The writing is really bad. Way too hamfisted in pushing the themes. One of the lines might as well have been "shut up male, the women are in control now"

Pretty much like red birdseye. Just a different colour. Medium hot, strong capsicum flavour when straight off the bush. I'd only cooked with them before, just went and ate one off the bush for you. Getting hotter. ****.

I like your example of teleportation.
But to invest in research in teleportation, you'd need some sort of vision as to how to make it happen.
I've seen too many projects trying to sell to investors that either:
a) Won't disclose the details of how their "magic" device will work, because its top secret.
b) Make claims using faulty science.

I had the privilege of sitting through a seminar where they were trying to get investors for this one.
( 1993 article ).

Me and other people where i worked discussed it, and decided that the innovations associated with the product were not going to improve the basic piston engine technology. It was really just some clever use of gearing.
However they attracted investment in the millions over most of a decade. I wonder how much went on directors fees.

People who want to invest in technology, who don't have an understanding of the principles involved really should obtain independent advice before investing.

Its gambling. I could bet on the horses, but i really don't know anything about horse racing, so i think it would be foolish.

Venture capitalists are usually dumb-arse finance bros. If you can stun them with a presentation the science and minutia don't matter.

Fun Fact. Napoleon was the same height as Caleb Daniel.
He was 6cm shorter than Jack Lonie, but i'd back Napoleon in a fight.
Adolf was 2 cm taller than Jack.
Tom Cruise is 2cm taller than Caleb and Nap.

My wife went in-house with a company commercialising medical research. She'd have to deal with the venture capitalists who were like coked up cowboys who'd sign off on anything that had a good story and sounded like it would make money. I met a few of them and they were absolute **** sticks. Sometimes money makes itself because the ship wasn't being steered but it made cash despite them.

Yeah it was fine but I kept waiting for a twist or something interesting to happen, never really got there. Pretty but I didn’t get much of substance from it.
