OK little things bug me.

An "Old El Paso" ( mexican food ), pronounces it
" Old El Paarso" in a accent that sounds like Alf Stewart's daughter.

Now i've heard the song by Marty Robbins all my life and to me it was always "El Pa So".
Even this might have a bit of the "ar" but its really short.

Is it going to be like Nestle's who spent decades teaching us to say " Nessels", before turning around one day and saying " you unsophisa****ingcated yobb's , its obviousley "Nessslay "why are you so stupid and backward?

I was 25 when I found out the G in bolognese was meant to be silent.

I still use the hard G

Ragù alla, hard G all you need to add is wine and have it meat base instead of tomato base since that is more Neapolitana and Naples which is south instead of Bogolna and north for the meat to be core instead of an afterthought.

Suffice to say with an Italian nonna and Austrian pappy, ours were three meat add wine sort of Bolognese and we have wood fired option to have the heat so proper have axe, will chop sort of wood cooking. So think;

North Italy - meats & earthen veg.
South Italy - thar be water, so fresh instances and things on vines like tomato.
Both versions of "we have excess for lasagna, what do we do with it?".

And it's why you often have it with penne and rigatoni and fettucini and spag bol is kind of frowned upon if you meet an Italian, as it needs the pasta to be thick and silky cause heavy meat content that is velvety and braised with wine.

As you can tell, I love me some proper Italian pasta.

Throw all of it in the Ministrone.

The kids were pissed off that Bologna didn’t do Aussie bolognaise. The ragu were pretty much fried mince with a bit of carrot and onion. They hated it.

Someone was telling me about a few people on a trip trying to book into a hotel in Scotland.
Details might be slightly wrong ( ie not sure if it was 3 people ).
They owner comes out , " i have a room for you two, but there's no room here for the likes of you "
The third guy was a Campbell.

Just heard a bang from just outside my door, got up, looked outside and there was a box in my "when I get a skip all this is going in" lot that was on a table I plan to discard that was now on the ground away from the table. In my thinking time, I went from the door to a second window on a diff angle and what do I see?

About 4 doors down on the opposite side of the street is a house, this house consistently keeps their door open as they run a shoddy PC repair space out of a room, this is the same house that previously had the supposed snake inside under a chair.

There was their cat, just chilling on said table, looking at me as I looked at it, and it swatted at something else on that table.

So I grab my sandals cause it's 30+ outside and warm concrete, the cat runs off under my car to my "you're not as hidden as you think you are", I pick up the box and hey, it's upside down now, so the contents spill out, thanks cat... it runs away further as I pick up the contents and throw it back in the pile.

I largely don't care that it did these things, I mean at least I know I won't have vermin and random sounds are cats punching on, it's skittish and so it's also not a problem, just, I draw the line at being stared at whilst it swats at things. I'm the big dog here, you get tolerated as a help kitty, since I grew up in farming the moment you turn nuisance and I do things to remove you from my property permanently.

Still giggling though, kitty picked the box with broken sandals and other footwear in there since I'm, cleaning up parental things. So I like to think it was looking for padded help on said concrete since it's not like the actual owners give a shit about said cat.

Might buy some milk and clean a platter for it to drink from. Might as well get a drink if it's going to chill at mine as no one will say I'm not a gracious host.

Update -

He's now guarding my back and front gate at the gate between the two, having run from the driveway across the entire backyard.

Upgraded from demolition work to patrolling.

Thousands of 200m turbines not that big? What about the tonnes of concrete footings required for them? What type of machinery and fuel is used for that too by the way?
Then who is the onus on re: upkeep and maintenance of said turbines? The contracts I’ve read puts all the onus on the land owner/farmer.
What happens when these companies set up these wind farms and then sell to an overseas company?
“Hi there, there’s a turbine on fire on my land”

If they pick up at all - “Yeah that’s your issue, not ours”

It’s not as simple as it’s made out to be imo. And “just dumping them somewhere” is not an acceptable plan in my view.🙃
I still can't believe tidal power hasn't taken off.
It must be like cars that run on water.... too good to have in the energy mix it would be the most dominant.🙃

The main problem with cars that ran on water was that they were a scam.
Anyone who knew anything about physics knew they were a scam, but they still got investors.

France installed a 240MW tidal power station in the 1960s.

While new advances make it more viable.
It works better if you have a very much higher than average tidal drop.
Its expensive, imagine a dam across port phillip bay, complete with shipping locks.
Its environmentally sus.. imagine a dam across port phillip bay.

They are now looking at tidal turbines, that work similarly to wind turbines, and they seem reasonably feasible.
There will probably never be enough natural locations for it to totally "take off" but it might work to augment the power supply.

Trouble is ....
We can get power from Solar
We can get power from Wind.

Then there is the gap, when there's not enough Solar and Wind.

Tidal power will kick in and out in a cycle of 6 1/4 hours, so will sometimes be more usefull than others.

So imagine Port Phillip bay, most of the fast water flow is probably going through the channels. These channels are used for ships though, so if you fill them with turbines, where do the ships go?
So feasible, but tricky.
