To be awarded to the winner of Carlton v Collingwood game Friday and all subsequent Carlton home games against Collingwood.

Highly inappropriate and a grave error by Collingwood under Edward McGuire to agree to such a gesture ...

I have to agree with collingwood fans on this one. 2 different cups?:thumbsdown:

Its been the Peter mac cup for a long time now. Which was already raising cancer awareness and collecting donations at the ground.

Richard Patt had nothing to do with collingwood. These things are supposed to be about something/someone that has impacted both clubs.

I think carlton should play for The Dick pratt medal.......a medal awarded to the best Carlton player in these games. An award handed out in the rooms post game. It would be a great award for a carlton player.:thumbsu:

* Im not knocking dick....just think this idea is wrong.

Is this seriously going to happen? I don't really see the point. Why do we need a cup or a medal between so many H&A games. It's getting slightly out of control.

Love to see what other supporters think about this

Alot of Pie supporters arnt happy about this because we all think the cup could have been named after some one else more deserving and that hasnt lied and stolen from millions of Australian's

Alot of carlton supporters think we are all just being feral idiots and they think its a great idea

It'll quickly go the way of other cups awarded between two teams during the regular season, community cup(Fitzroy-Footscary), albert park lake cup(saints-swans) to name a couple.

can't see why Collingwood players would particularly want to win this one

WTF? Who gives a toss about Richard Pratt (From a Collingwood view)???

Why would Eddie agree to such a bulls**t cup. If we win it it can go straight in the recycling bin!

they should just scrap the peter mac cup and this stupid pratt cup, and just call it the 'bragging rights" cup. cause that's all it is..

they can still have tin rattlers for the peter mac foundation.

My query is what the hell does Dick "Lionised after death" Pratt have to do with the pies?

These cups should be something, as another poster put, to do with BOTH clubs or they are more irrelevant than they seem to be on the surface.

It's a Carlton home game/fixture and if we want to honour our late president and a great australian and humanatrian in this way, that is our choice ..

And btw, don't Freo and Port play for the 'Rat's Clacker' cup, North Melbourne and Richmond play for the 'Eureka' cup etc, what's the bloody big deal.

This is another game and event to raise funds for 'prostate' cancer research ???

The bitterness is strong in some fans.

Perhaps Collingwood need to just win the game and refuse to accept the 'cup'?

It's on a par with the Ross Glendinning medal for the Western Derby. The inaugural West Coast captain, whose only 'contribution' to Fremantle was as a member of the match committee during the club's lowest ever point. And then there is the 'prestige' that goes along with this award after Glendinning himself has changed the votes because he didn't want an indigenous player to win it (awarding it to Gardiner over Sampi) and Josh Carr being duped by Chris Judd in 2006.

You know the reason why. This basically glorifies the actions he was accused of. He doesn't deserve to be honored with anything.

Unless you are playing with yourself it is not your choice, there is another team involved. What if you wanted to call it the Adolf Hitler cup? Should we make a space for that in our trophy cabinet?

Fine if that's what the blues feel like doing but once again isnt the whole cup idea meant to have something for both clubs?

Therefore we can have, by this carlton thinking line, separate cups for home games against separate clubs. When we play the dogs saturday we might play for the "verdun howell cup" and at the next home game we could play for the "Little Libba" cup.

ALL home & away 'cups' are a complete and utter farce.

There should be ONE trophy presented in the AFL and that should be presented on the last Saturday of September.
