What's the surprise we got comfortably outclassed by the reigning premiers at their home ground? We tried hard but fell short against one of the top sides, that's where we're at. We beat who we should and we play finals, that's we asked for at the start of the year

let this be a reminder to all Richmond posters. Don't make a thread that can be turned against you each time the team loses.
Best to let things slide.
The actions of one poster have unfortunately tainted a whole group, but that's the way things are in the interwebz land.

Fair enough, but a lot of your supporters got way ahead of themselves. Still far too many holes in your team.

Well name & shame them then, if you must, but stop carrying on as though one or two idiots speak for all of us...

Not sure what the problem is, there goal this year was to make a final and they look like doing so. There list is pretty good and developing. A couple more list management changes and the will be a threat next year. Its funny to think that cotchin is only 23.

Oh how I laughed when I read the title of this thread.

Only Richmond fans can get so far ahead of themselves as to start talking about top 4. Sydney are the best in the league comfortably now and Richmond are still a fair way off from being in their league.

l laughed even more when you were able to extrapolate this conclusion based on a title that made no such inference

I'm not sure why Richmond fans are defending this thread by saying "Oh what's the big deal we lost to Sydney at the SCG? Most sides lose to Sydney at the SCG." What you are saying is correct, but this thread is claiming that people knocking Richmond's dismal performances against top 4 sides are off the mark. Losing to Sydney at the SCG today only proves that Richmond have failed to be overly competitive against top 4 sides this season, the fact that it was expected doesn't change this at all. Strange argument to make.

They were talking flag after they appointed Mick

It would be nice, but the nature of this site is that one supporter says something which is then associated with an entire supporter base. Every team cops it, not just your own. I wouldnt waste your time.

That's just it. The way i see it, Richmond are still going through a transitional period of ridding their list of cloggers and getting in good young players who will take the club forward. Once the younger brigade have 100 games or so under their belt is probably when you'd expect them to mount any sort of serious tilt at a flag, which is another 3 or so years yet.

Put it this way, they're in a better position to win a flag than the Kangaroos, who look like they'll be stuck in no-mans land for the forseeable future.

LOL. Great effort your boys put in. Clearly making up numbers in the finals this year.

So is every side that doesn't win the flag. If you are not good enough to win the premiership, don't bother playing the games?

Are we good enough to win the flag this year? Probably not. Do we have a chance. Yes - if we make the finals. Are we excited? Sh!t, yeah - A lot better than battling for 12th and talking about tanking.

I can't wait for next week when we have a chance to knock off the premiership favorites............................

How's your street cred? You can't even spell your buddy's name correctly in your signature. Maybe stick with the basics for now pal, and while you're at it keep ignoring our performances against your team in season 2013.

You're right of course.

It's about time we all started asking people to back up baseless claims on the main board though.

Why does it have to be lilke that though? I agree, call specific people on bullshit rather than the stock standard 'lol at richmond/carlton/collingwood/whoever getting ahead of themselves' rubbish. The place would be much better for it.

Tony Shaw has always bagged Richmond on Fox Footy. Last year he and Dermot were giving their top 5 from the 2004 draft. Dermot had Deledio at 3 but Shaw was unable to fit him in. His reasoning was that even though Deledio had won multiple Best and Fairest's, they didn't count because they were won at a poor club.

Richmond haven't beaten anyone of note this year but are going better than most would have suggested at the start of the year.

2 of the biggest media bashers out there. Seriously not sure how either are considered 'experts', whenever I listen to them, their 'insights and expert analysis' are basically just stating the obvious. Probably says more about the quality of media commentators though sadly.

This is excruciating.

Richmond are an average team that has capitalised on a dream draw.

Every time they've played a good team this year, they've been pantsed.

And listening to the media trying to talk them up is vomit inducing.

The team is structurally flawed. Deledio is pathetic in big games, too easily tagged. Martin hasnt had an influence after half time. And Riewoldt offers nothing when not kicking goals.

These are all patterns.

This is all we need to know to prove you have NFI
