What I find funny with these sorts of predictions is that they are predicated on those making the statements to generally get the majority of kit all of their tips right every round - which just does not happen.

Funnily enough I’ve heard a few times this year that people say if you are leading your footy comp this year that you probably don’t know much about footy lol.

Yep, it is almost certain that predicted ladder even only 3 rounds out from the end of the H&A season will be wrong.

It is a rare occurrence to get 9 from 9 right in 1 round let alone 27-27 from 3 successive rounds.

It is absolutely VITAL that we finish TOP TWO. I remember clearly in 2004 when the AFL rorted us and we had our Home Preliminary Final moved from the GABBA to the MCG. The extra travelling cost us the Premiership. We do not want to be doing constant road trips during the Finals series. Two HOME FINALS, a GRAND FINAL and a PREMIERSHIP please.

My theory from here is simple. The TOP FOUR TEAM that can win their last 3 Home and Away games will win the Grand Final. On paper, the most likely looks like Melbourne, then Brisbane and then Port Adelaide and then Collingwood. Depending how the final ladder pans out, I wouldn’t be surprised if we had a Melbourne v Brisbane Grand Final.

That is my tip at this stage as well, my opinion is fluid over the next few weeks though.

We were an older team so that was a bigger deal then. In 2003 we finished third and even lost the first game to the Pies and still smashed them in the grand final.

The injuries were more the problem in the 2004 GF IMO, Hart couldn't play... would of been handy on Byron Pickett. Brown and Lynch were on 2 legs between them.

Hmm ... one could think from observations like that that even coaches as reputedly ruthless as "lethal" had their 'pets'...

Would we have had a four-peat if we had played our best available team that day? We will never know but either way Brown and Lynch etc never got their fourth medal.

Dont know how you expect Brisbane to win their last 3 home & away games and then go on to win the flag with a coach who keeps on making fundamental mistakes week after week and picking his enept favourites all season.
Time for you to take a good hard look at yourself and make better predictions considering your education status and standing in the community...come on Radio Guru, be better. ;):D

I know we just need to keep winning. But I can really see Collingwood *ing the bed in the last few weeks. Leaving Melbourne to finish 1st and us 2nd. Giving us either Port or pies at the gabba Rd 1 of finals.

I can see it happening as well. Injuries to key personnel combined with them beginning to tire after playing helter-skelter footy all season. Seems similar to last year - they probably won't have the legs to come back in the last quarter of a big final if they find themselves in that position (although they nearly did against the swans so who knows).

The most likely path to a grand final for us would be to play Port Adelaide at the Gabba in a qualifying final with their current form and injuries.

It's hard to imagine us getting to week 4 if we lose the qualifying final and have to go the long way.

It's not beyond us to win an away qualifying final like we saw last year against Melbourne in the semi final but it's going to be significantly harder.

and since we don't our own set of umpires like the Bulldogs did we should avoid 7th as well!
