Drinving my car, listening to TRH. Ox says there's going to be another Collingwood person leaving to go to Carlton next week and that Marko would be spewing. When asked what his initials were, he says "Alan Didak" I let out a "Nooooo!" at the same time Marko did!
Could see Uncle Mick getting Heath in to the Navy Blue

Noon Saturday, that time again when we should all turn off SEN and tune into ABC radio.

SEN - bloody horse racing
ABC - started with Socceroos, 0-6 loss to France and sacking of Holger Osiek. Now discussing Ryobi Cup with Jim Maxwell and Kerry O'Keeffe.

I know which station is covering sport.

Certainly do like ABC on the weekends over summer. They cover the cricket very well, thr tennis is Jan. Do thet also cover victory or heart games? On that, sen will be covering all victory anf heart home games which is a great move. Though I know some here won't tune in.

Add me to the "we hate horse racing" club. There's not much to like about it, from the poser owners, right down to the hobos who hang around outside the Bentleigh TAB. The only good thing about it is Dr Turf, and I often wonder why smart guys such as him are into it; I guess it's what you're breastfed on, as Hookesy used to say. Oh yeah, and the animals are spectacular, but who knows if they like it or not? :D

My parents are pretty much teetotalers (well, I never knew that was spelled with a double "e"; gord, I'm dumb. Ha), who never gambled, so i guess it rubs off on ya.

Each to their own: if people are into it, then that's obviously fair enough, but what REALLY shits me about it -- apart from the ubiquitous advertising on of betting joints -- is when bogans like John Anderson try to make out that it would "still be a great sport without gambling"; well, that's more that the gist off what he says about it. When responding to criticism that racing is just gambling, he once said: "well, that's rubbish! Look how many people go The Melbourne, The Caulfield Cups, Oaks Day, etc. So, that puts that argument to bed."

I'm serious! That's what he says! heck me! He uses the example of half-a-dozen "parties" to suggest that horse racing is much more than gambling. Yeah, right. Imagine the size of the crowd at Randwick on a Winter Saturday if there was no punting. And I'm sure pubs would be packed with people simply wanted to watch the races without betting.

Ha.

Bring it :p

Horse racing is a great sport....I was raised into a racing family, and I also trained greyhounds for many years...

..and I never have a bet, never did....I just love the animals and the challenge of training them to be their best.

Not everyone involved in the sport bets.....although I know that a large percentage do.

Glad SEN are doing racing over the summer and Dr Turf is a national treasure:p:thumbsu:

So the ABC waited until 12 noon to speak about the sacking and the cricket ?

Sen on Hutchys show , Off the Bench , broke the sacking at about 10:15am by Hutchy , and the Sen Saturday sports show started at 11:00am this morning Saturday , 1 whole hour before the ABC.

I haven't listened to that hour as yet , but I have it on record to listen to later on , as I continued to listen to the 11-12 hour of Hutchys show through 3cs on tune in radio , but I'm guessing Kevin Hillier who started hosting at 11am and is going through to 6pm talked about both the sacking and the cricket.

Maxwell and Skull are ABC so how can Sen get them to comment ?

Schibecsta has been covering the Bathurst , They have had numerous interviews throughout the day as well as racing.

And they are doing all the Victory Heart games this A League season with the 4 diegoes taking talkback after each game.

Sen are doing great.

They wanted some cricket rights but didn't get them

So you will have triple m at the big bash games but not actually calling any of the games , and Beva on 3aw last night indicating that they haven't even decided who is going to commentate their 3aw cricket broadcasts.

The game wad also scheduled to start at 7.30, but I saw a tweet this morning saying it had been changed to a 7.50 start.

Not sure why.

Good to hear Ivy on before. She was on fire. The boys just kept throwing names at her and she went off on a tangent.

Brilliant Collingwood 4 eternity :thumbsu: It's always awkward when facts get in the way of a good story.

Thanks

Sen do a great fantastic job , covering numerous sports 24/7 , and they are not government/tax payer funded , unlike the ABC

Both stations have their own way of covering and reporting the sports , its just it seems some would love nothing better than Melbournes Own Australia's own 24/7 dedicated sports station to fold.

And then what , do they start potting the ABC then ?

It seem that some expect to turn on the radio and have their own person instantly tell them exactly what is happening in just the sport that they are interested in and not anything else.

In the era of smartphones apps and the Internet , you can find an update , result or report on just about every sport you want , yet some pot Sen because when they tune in Sen aren't talking about it right then at that minute , that second.

On Darren Parkin cricket show last night 6pm , Merv Hughes will be the regular host and when he isn't available it will be Hoggy.

And there racing wrap up show they interviewed both of the winning trainers from the days races Mark Kav and Dan O Sullivan

And Schibecsta has done a fantastic job the last 4 days at Bathurst

Kevin Hillier , Sat, and Brett Phillips , Sun , are doing a fantastic job steering the ship , just as good as Davvid Hookes and Gerard Healey did with their 90's early 2000's Sports Saturday and Sunday on 3aw

Razor Rays repeated dribble is very tiresome, same crap night after night.

Razor Rays repeated dribble is very tiresome, same crap night after night.

The ANA guys will be pleased that you are listening in every night , Ray is one of dozens of different people that have called up and gone to air on the station in just the past 24 hours , it seem that more people would rather send in a quick SMS or Facebook post and give their opinion and get them to respond to that instead , Ray , like a few other regulars prefers to ring them up and talk.

The last thing that they want to be seen to be doing is vetting their callers such as " No Ray not tonight you always ring in" I wouldn't blame him if he never listened to the again if that we're ever to be said o him or anyone.

Though they should ban Steve from Mitcham , that caller fails on so many levels , that I'm sure that only let him on the air so that he make a fool of himself with his same shtick calls

I do ring in when I have a decent point to raise, I don't ring often but when I do I am not sprouting the same trash night after night. The hosts don't need to tell him no, not tonight Ray but they should limit his time as his calls are all the same crap repeatedly.

"Richmond will be tough to beat"
"I tipped Freo Hawks early in the season"

I do see what your saying

Maybe he's lonely and Sen is his only outlet for a conversation with someone , so naturally he would talk mostly about his likes , about Richmond , footy topics and punting , with the ANA hosts and he values their opinions and banter and time they give him.

It would be like setting a daily quota of posts that any person could make here on bigfooty , but that's unlikely to happen as the advertising on here would be based all around page views and page hits.

It would limit the trolling but would inconvenience those that provide good posting thoughts and answers.
