For those with an i-phone I just discovered today how to listen to SEN's streaming via the phone.

Go to ootunes.com (leave out the www) and download the app. Its only $4.99. Once done you can basically pick up any radio station in the world. Takes about a minute or two to go through the buffering.

Listened via the phone today for about a 40 minute period and it didn't drop out once.

tunein Radio is a far better app, sen is clear as digital.

did harf have dorrito on his show on tuesday,. been working n/shift , but I thought I heard harf say it for a promo on kb show that morning

Listened to overnights this week got to give a thumbs up to christian Argenti on his interview with soccer hooligan Dougie Brimson compulsive and frightening listening!Mudassar Nazar was also on and was very hard hitting on the political problems with pakistani cricket and the lack of coaching programs in place to tutor young cricketers. Basically implied that every former player who is critical of their national coach is just positioning themselves for a job in their cricket program. Great interview and a pity that most of the SEN audience missed it!

Is 'Viney' back yet ??? I haven't really listened to SEN since he's gone on holiday to SA to pick up a couple of greyhounds ...

The man reason I listen to his show is to hear him abuse the nuffies that call his show on a regular basis, I miss it ... Also has 'Hysteria' finished his w/end shift yet, I refuse to listen in on the afternoon shift on w/ends because of that douche bag.

The tennis has been pretty good :thumbsu:

How did SEN get the rights for it? If they had them all along they should of done some earlier matches aswell.

This is what we are talking about re - live sport. Its what SEN has to be about.

Not thanks Tennis on radio is bloody awful.

Who the hell is this 'we'? A dozen serial forum pests don't speak for me or most of SEN's listners.

Would be if Dr Turf was funny. He is a complete tosser 100% in love with himself.

Dr Turf is a legend and one of the funniest blokes on radio anywhere. He makes any show he is on worth listening to. The man has a big brain and knows his stuff. Compulsory listening.

who are "we" and "most of SENs listeners"?

fwiw i dont care that tennis was on. it was a major event and coverage was needed.

in addition i think tennis on the radio isnt listening material either, but meh.

The fact that SEN is a sports station, they must do all the "big" events as much as possible IMO....even if that particular sport isn't to our liking..

Regarding the tennis...love it, but couldn't listen all the time, it is a bit much...however, a few times when big games were on, I was out and about, and to be able to listen to the end of games and the build up to some stunning finishes, was great..

SEN deserve a big pat on the back for doing what must have been very difficult..:thumbsu:

The news on the future I think may be mixed. SEN looks as though it will remain as a seperate entity to the new Melbourne talk station. However it appears likely that there will be a change on the dial from 1116 to 1377 to accomodate the talk station wanting the supposedly better reception.

How is Harf going in the afternoons? any updates, feedback

I have only managed to hear bits here and there, but I've been impressed with what I have heard. Seems a bit less cocky and more measured than when he used to fill in.

Just shows you that personality goes a long way.

Also heard Ed Whyatt in a couple of afternoons for an hour. That really picks the show up from the usual siesta late in the show.

At last an SEN thread sighting of the common-sensed one!

Thought you'd hidden away with the decline.:)

Agree. Good call on the new afternoon guy. Should only get better with time.

The Rev. Schuller idea for an hour with Wyatt Earp et al., is also an improvement.

You were still signing your cheques with a quill

Surely the greatest penalty you could impose on Afridi is making him play for Pakistan
On Shahid Afridi’s cheating ways.

They’ve also signed Mathew Johns and I believe they’re chasing Ivan Milat for a new game show
On Channel Seven signing Kyle Sandilands.

The new alcoholic Mars bar being launched today is it ? Got a liqueur in it for Carlton to sort of grab hold of it?

I remember going to see Bob Marley and the Wailers at Festival Hall a long time ago and it was like a Cheech and Chong movie

But If it wasn’t Andrew Gaze, it was just Knackers from Broken Hill, no way he’d be up the front, he’d be in the cargo hold
- On Qantas allowing 6’7” Andrew Gaze to travel in first class because he was cramped in economy class.

Critiquing the Commentaries

I thought the Channel Nine commentary was simply outstanding last night … you know, the best commentator in the [cricket] world is Shane Warne now … I thought James Brayshaw was outstanding last night … I thought the two of them lifted the broadcast last night
- On Channel Nine’s coverage of Aussie/Paki T20 game.

Unlike Channel Seven’s coverage of Flemington, the racing club itself pays Nine to cover the meeting, which is fair enough, I mean wanting a bit of a wider publicity and so forth. I mean I love Emma Freeman, she’s a great girl and she’s got a good career in front of her, but Channel Nine using her as a form expert - what a slap in the face to their viewers and the industry itself. And to the Melbourne Racing Club.

If you’re not going to do it properly Channel Nine don’t bother doing it. That was crap. Absolute unwatchable garbage. I feel sorry for Simon O’Donnell who does a good job hosting and so forth but when your experts are people who actually really don’t know what they’re talking about -

Look, Emma’s terrific, I really like Emma. And she’s done a good job in certain things that she does in the media. And this is no disrespect to Emma whatsoever, but she would be the first person to put her hand up and say ‘I can’t talk form of horses.’ It’s just absurd. I mean no other sporting presentation would have people with no idea of what they’re actually there to do as part of a broadcast. Just pathetic Nine. Absolutely pathetic
- On Channel Nine’s coverage of the Orr Stakes meeting at Caulfield.

No, they tried to extort Foxtel I think may have been a better description of what when on there
- On KB’s explanation of why Channel Seven couldn’t come to a deal with Foxtel on the tennis.

Who’s With Me [editorial]

Jason, I’d ask you to cast your substance-abused mind back ten years to the Sydney Olympics. It was flawless. It was perfect. It went off without a hitch, except for one little hiccup - the opening ceremony. Where our Cathy nearly got burnt to death by a faulty Olympic flame. We nearly lost our beloved, most popular athlete for 2000 years to a faulty Olympic flame.

Last night, again, a perfect ceremony - nearly. Great line dancing, great tap dancing, great fiddle playing; marvellous exposure to all things cultural that Canada has delivered us over the decades. And then what happened? Then they attempted to light the Olympic flame. Three of the rods came out perfectly; what happened to the fourth rod? The greatest Canadian athlete of all time, Wayne Gretzky, was nearly killed by faulty Olympic flame. Donald Sutherland’s acting career nearly came to an untimely halt because of a faulty rod propping up another faulty Olympic flame. I’m sick to death of the Olympic flame. I would like before London 2012 to gather the Olympic flame, and while they’re at it, throw in Nazi sympathizer and former IOC president, Juan Antonio Von Samaranch, chuck in Jacques Rogge, chuck in John Coates, chuck in John Fahey; put them all in the cauldron, set fire to it, AND I NEVER WANT TO SEE THE OLYMPIC FLAME - EVER AGAIN!

Who’s with me?

Started slowly but I'm warming to him more and more, I guess it helps having a co-host after 3pm every day.

Better than Doran at least.

Harf is good ..................being enjoying the shows:)

Can we just get John H rather than Matt T to the daily sport news

Also Schibecs is doing a good job covering the games,

Good news folks the Stkilda cheerleader reads this sight STEPHEN J PEAKE!!
Heard him have a crack at Celtic who posts on here. Peaky doesn't like being refered to as a windbag, but do you have to agree ad- nauseum to every decision the STkilda Football Club make. He even stuck up for the potential recruiting of Nathan Carroll a couple of years back!!!!

when dermott is on does he even take a breath? jesus since hes been on its been all about him. donna aston starts her segment, straight away he brings the topic to himself.

You mean you only just noticed this about Derm? I remember a big article he wrote criticizing James Hird in The Aged in about 97. Someone did a count on the number of times the words "I", "me" and those types or words were used. It was really funny.
