Its a very good question I feel."Our crest’s legacy is stronger than ever, but it’s time for the next generation to carry the torch."
What does that even mean?
Our branding is strong but we're going to change it for the next generation.

It means we're changing our motto to "Sigma Through Rizz""Our crest’s legacy is stronger than ever, but it’s time for the next generation to carry the torch."

why not send it out for members to review and comment.
They do worry me with things like this. Then again I’ve liked most of the new jumper designs so,hopefully it goes as well as they have.I believe that is part of what this is, as this is a pre screening before public release, ergo if there is mad "purge this with fire" energy, they'll of course reconsider scenarios.
There'd have been a focus group involved, to gauge against, so say the groups often thanked before player sponsors at events for example who are not club related but are above the general member/supporter.
I mean for all any of us know, it'll launch, be poorly received by all and sundry, it'll then be reverted midway through next year if say this reveal is a whole walk out straight abort it scenario moving forward. As it'd be a marketing nightmare to continue with the design.
Because most members wouldn’t know taste if it bit them on the arsewhy not send it out for members to review and comment.

Care to do a mock up of what you think we'll end up with? I'm relying on your superior design skills here don't let me downAnd now he has left the club after seeing the result... prepare your cornholes everybody.
Can someone draw this without Wilkie. The Red Cross on the solid black background wit St Kilda in white same font on a black band.Good catch. There's a version of that logo with Wilkie in it, and it is fully silver (instead of red). Then there's this pivture of Wilkie with the cross behind him. I wonder if the logo will be a white version of that shield, with this red cross in it?
The bottom point of the cross is the same shape as the bottom of the logo, I haven't checked to see if the taper of the sides of the cross line up with the shield. It looks like it does, but a little lower. Perhaps leaving room for "St Kilda Saints" across the top.
No doubt they will remove the St. K. F. C.

There is a large portion of supporters who are going to rip it to shreds no matter the design just because it's a change.Club should leak 5 designs including the real one. If the one they want gets ripped to shreds in the comments they have time to save face
that's skibidiIt means we're changing our motto to "Sigma Through Rizz"

I think that’ll go close. And I like it.
No capthat's skibidi
Yeah I thought that. I think it’ll have the top half bordered in whiteGuarantee people would say we’re ripping off the Bombers if we go for red on black

‘How I want to be’ hasn’t been used since the Richardson years. The current club membership slogan is ‘marching in’. I think we’re going to see the Latin replaced with a straight translation to English. Nobody understands or sees a need for Latin nowadaysI'm really not sure what they have done but I think it will be more significant than a tweak with all the fanfare about it.
Maybe there will be multiple logos with a wordmark/monogram, corporate and a simplified icon for apps and digital.
I have sketched and drawn up many Saints logos... but none have really taken me as something that is improved on what we have.
To have a guess, the Latin might be removed and replaced with a club slogan like the "how I want to be" theme they have been running with lately and the letters StK or name St Kilda made more prominent. There may be a new colour added to give the logo some depth like a grey or a gradient.
It'll be interesting what sort of shape it is, if I could see an outline then I'd have a good idea what would be on the inside of it.
It would also suggest that we are “how we want to be” - which I hope we’re not‘How I want to be’ hasn’t been used since the Richardson years. The current club membership slogan is ‘marching in’.
