The ST.K.F.C. thing was cool!

I loved it then.

I love it now!

I especially loved the dot below the raised large case T.

The dot is missing from my Spud jumper, but the St.F.C. is there.

I wouldn't have bought it had it said St Kilda.

The F.C. is cool.

Manchester City changed their's back in 2016 to bring it back closer to the classic look.

The goobly gobble-gook of the company charged to re-design it ('consujlting with stake-holders BS') be damned!

ya know we were gonna be called the Moorabbin Saints in '65.

Luckily the heart prevailed.

This time the marketing franchise wins the day. Too bad. Guess they'll be redesigning Hawthorn's next year. the same mob.

Clipping the wings off the bird banner below isn't so good either, but it's a damn shame the F.C. is gone.

Where I live, the new Japanese soccer clubs dig the F.C. cos they know it's cool.

Maybe we can bring it back one day.

Very impressed there was no leak of ours like happened with Adelaide and GC. Club did a good job keeping it under wraps.
That's what impressed me also Brut.

This all would have been in the pipeline I imagine for some time.

When you consider how many people would have been involved with focus groups,surveys......etc......the club did very well keeping things "under wrap"

I suspect that non disclosure agreements were flying left, right and centre.

Oh i read it

canceling your membership over a new logo design

of all the things this club has done over the years the logo has you canceling your membership LOL
You might have read what I wrote, but you clearly didn't understand it, or the root of my frustration.

The entitlement is seeping out of my screen, stop it
In what universe is this "entitlement?" I feel like I have earned the right to give my opinion, and you and I both know the club couldn't care less either way, so what does it even matter? The board doesn't need you to defend their decision.

I'm not happy with the new logo, and having a go at me behind your computer screen won't change that.

I just dont see it as an issue, especially something to cancel my membership over

I don't like it but I don't care enough to get upset about it. They have a big poster blitz up around St Kilda the suburb and it seems a rebrand and maybe a bit of a new energy sort of moment. Our glorious past has hardly been something to pin our hopes on so I don't really care either way. Probably sells them a bit of merchandise and all publicity is good publicity.

V disappointed that the new logo doesn’t use Calibri as the font.

I wanted Papyrus and that chopped out fake worn filter over the logo like the circa 2012 white training tops.

I've been bloody loyal. Fan since 1993, member since 2000, spent countless hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars attending games, travelling for finals, sponsored a player for 3 years, was in the Cheer Squad when I lived in Melbourne, member of the Pride Committee, have TWO tattoos including the (now outdated) logo.

Where is the loyalty to me? Every time I have something to say about the direction this club is headed in, the club that I have loved for over half my life, I get abused and belittled by strangers on the internet.

Is that all?

I demand more loyalty
Been here since 85

We are owed nothing

Played around some more.
Got rid of the ribbon shadows that make no sense given that shape of the ribbon.
Also, the text on the ribbon should be curved (if the ribbon is curved) or straight if the ribbon is straight.

I agree. Try being a 56 year old supporter who was dragged to games crying from the age of 4 in the early 70's. If you're in, you're in.

They can drive you nuts, and you can hate them at times. But at the end of the day they are just like family. You forgive their shortcomings. And no matter how often the disappoint you and break your heart, which is fairly regularly, you continue to love them and hope that one day your loyalty will be rewarded with a flag. That's all I want from them. They owe me nothing.

Getting rid of the motto is a disgrace, such a unique and special and very relevant thing for St Kilda. I've had a long soft spot for the Sainters and stuff like this is a bit of a pain to see.
Imagine thinking anyone in here gives a single flying f*ck what you think lmao

The more I see it, the more I hate it
I was lucky enough to go to the unveiling yesterday and the first thing I saw were the glaring problems of mediocre logo craftsmanship. This was exaggerated by the CEO parroting jargon about the need to update the crest for a 'digital age'. This would be good and all, but the logo doesn't even do that. I opened my phone and saw this email below. The weird need to muddy the logo with a weird double stroke (one white, one black) serves no purpose at all. Even the mid war folk who created the 1933 logo were able to use a strong single stroke.

The 2 strokes, which turn into 3 on a non-white background.

3!! pointless strokes. Plus the joy inconsistent reds.

Losing the ribbon is a mistake. It has been on every Saints' jumper since 1933, and carried a classiness and classic feel. It create a balance of when used with the top heavy crest shape. The new 'ribbon', if you can call it that, clashes heavily with the classic and simple crest with another thin and sharp stroke.

I wish we took the route of a cleaning up, rather than a redesign. See numerous EPL and European soccer clubs simply cleaning up timeless logos, instead of changing them.

Lastly the motto. Only using it in marketing is a bit of a kick in the nuts to those supporters who love the club and its historical players. Loyalty is what has kept us existing. I think of all the crazy idiots like me who have shown up week on week to support the team when we'd surely get smashed and barely getting 20,000 at a home game. I think of Barks, Buckets and Roo who said no to getting more money to go to bigger and stronger clubs. A bit of the soul has been lost with the removal of the motto.

I'm not a fan of the change, I preferred the old St KFC and Fortius Quo Fidelius logo but you can't stop the change these days.

INXS had the right idea back in the 80s.

Fair call.

Logo still looks pish.

Freo should have stuck with their old traditional red, green and purple jumpers instead of going all in on purple in my opinion.

Genuinely. The establishment dateand the lines of the ribbon are also less clear to read and see than the motto of the previous logo.
