We got Trengove in which almost balances out Crameri. Doesn't account for Murphy and Boyd though. How does that work out when Murf, Boydy and Crammers are gone?

My guess is that (a) other clubs have refreshed with youngsters at least as aggressively as us (the list is average age ranking, not average age) and (b) we were already close to the bottom so it was going to be hard to get much lower, especially when those lower clubs have also lost ageing players.
Similar to my coke and chocolate consumption on the way to and from games......Average meat pie consumption per VFL/AFL game by ivan rassmussen

Does anyone have stats for meat pie consumption at VFL/AFL games in the previous 45-50 years? I know my downward trend is related to attending with kids and associated costs, etc, but I'm curious to know what the trends are. I still enjoy a pie btw, probably only manage 1-2 per season these days.
I estimate I've attended around 5-600 games in my life (h&a, finals, pre-season, night series, practice matches). I reckon my best effort was 4 pies vs West Coast R22 1988 at Western Oval. That is probably one of only 4-5 games I have ever consumed alcohol at as well, standing with non-Dogs mates behind the Barkly St goals (something I rarely did), and got interviewed by a young female reporter from the local paper as Eagles goals kept soaring over my head. Only game I ever went home p1ssed from, but the beers and pies didn't even touch the sides...
Tbh, I'm not even sure why I just posted that...!
I have this delightful mental image of Fossie doing a line of coke on the tram home after a game in the 1980s ... and all the other passengers pretending not to notice.Similar to my coke and chocolate consumption on the way to and from games......

It's not all that surprising.
Averaging 19 disposals over your first three games in 2018 would be similar to averaging 15 disposals over your first three games in 2000. It's a much different game than 20 years ago, and one of the major statistical changes are the higher amount of disposals per player, per game.
Then he would only be better than 15 out of that listIt's not all that surprising.

Why is it surprising that a future Brownlow Medalist is better than 15 of the past 22 Brownlow Medalists? Then he would only be better than 15 out of that list
Oh I see. Not at all surprisingWhy is it surprising that a future Brownlow Medalist is better than 15 of the past 22 Brownlow Medalists?
