I'd be tempted to leave Campbell as our super sub, since he nailed that role v gws. It might be a good idea to have Adams & Parker in for the 1st half while Port's pressure will be high & to help with our contested ball work. Then sub one of them off for Campbell to add more zip in our game & hopefully expose Port's fatigue.

I have no idea what the coaches will do with Juzzy but if he's out then Fox straight into the team.

Out: Mills, Juzzy*
Ins: Adams, Fox*

Making plans to use the sub for particular players invites problems.

I think Parker and Adams in the same 22, even possibly the same 23, doesn't really work for us.

Banking on being able to use the sub for one of them to gain more speed later on comes undone if we lose someone else, particularly a quicker player whom Campbell would just be replacing.

I think you play one of Parker or Adams from the start and the other misses altogether. For me it's still Parker as he's a bigger forward threat.

Suspect Papley might get some CBs as he has usually done, now he's got a game under his belt. Bringing Campbell in helps keep a small, quicker (than Parker) threat up forward at all times.

cThere is still a doubt about Macca's match fitness. I'd make Macca sub & Campbell into the team. He was sensational in the last quarter of the last game, 9 disposals, 1 goal & 3 score involvements.

Rather the other way- with a sub you have to assume an injury first minute

I am worried about this game. The odds are all against us. Not beaten them in the last 8 games, since 2016. Ken seems to have the advantage on Horse.

We have been beaten in the finals indicators against them in every game. Contested possession, clearances & stoppages. They got a record score from centre clearance last game, which was a shocker. We need to change our midfield tactics, attack the ball harder & two way run.

We have been denied the corridor a lot from defence in recent games. That is mainly because we have been taking far too long to set up & kick thx ball out. They set up to intercept where we always go, very predictable.

So, what about changing the set ups coming from defence. I saw some of this in the last quarter last week. We ran the ball more but kicked wide & zig zagged between the wings & corridor. We often set up the up & back leads, with players entering space, then deserting space, leaving space for a teammate to run into. Clever.

I am always worried when we play Port. Simply because we don't beat them. This has gone on far too long & I am certain it is a coaching thing. We need to change a few things if we are going to win. We can't allow Butters, Rosie & co out the defensive side of the stoppage like we did last time on so many occasions. We can't allow their half backs to push up for the receive. We need to lock their running players down, get ball & run off them. If you are on the defensive all the time against them they are a great side. But if you are able to turn defence into attack their mids & forwards drop off. We have to force this to happen.

We can't allow them to get lots of defenders free at the centre line because they will just run the ball in. We need to be mindful & play man on man so nobody has a chance to get free. If we play our general zone, they will create the overlap & destroy us. We need to make every Port player accountable

Reckon they'll have a siege mentality around Hinkley?
Didn't turn up for him in their last prelim, last years finals, qualifying final this year. I'd be more worried if we were facing them in the semis, but now they've had a finals win, the pressure is off a bit, and they could revert to (poor) form.

Port board must be running on empty after everytime Hinkey has a bad loss
I hope we flog them, Hinkley gets sacked, and they get put out of their misery.

But even if we reversed the 112 point drubbing, I'm not convinced Kochie won't come out and favour stability, sticking with Ken, their "most successful coach in AFL history" (oh boy).

He literally did this two days ago. he garuanteed Ken will coach Port in 2025.

You guys need not worry any longer about Friday night's game, you've won.

"We exist to ensure Ken has a job" is our new moto, and now that he will be, we aren't playing for anything anymore.

Congrats, hope use belt Geelong.

Selfishly, can only hope this is the case. But I'd still prefer he gets sacked.

Actually, my real preference is for us to be up by 70+ in the 4th quarter and cameras cut to security manhandling Ken and Kochie out of the SCG for impersonating club representatives.

If Port don't win, then I am ALL for what you'e just described!

The way they wrecked our season last year by injuring our defenders, the way they've deliberately avoided concussion protocols. The way Ken Hinkley carried on. Stealing Allir Allir for peanuts. I dunno, I can find a few reasons to send Ladhams out to snipe.
Just beat the with our season’s superiority if we actually are the clear best team.
I still have my doubts but the ladder position overall shouldn’t lie.
