Ho hum................so Djokers won his 8th AO title.
Same 2-3 have won men’s event past 20 years.
Fair to say tennis would have to be the most predictable monotonous boring sport on the planet.

Bring on AFL

and Tigs!

Heard this story on JJJ back in the late 80's, a girl phoned in telling the story of her and her boyfriend leaving a pub late and taking a short cut home through a paddock, they got frisky and started to get into it, he went the growl, and in her excitement stretched right back and accidentally hit an electric fence with her hand... Ouch, now that's what I call a nasty shock for the boyfriend.
A mate of mine had an interesting series of tussles with an electric fence.

1. Went to climb fence forgot it was on .... Zap.

2. Was working on a ladder slipped and fell, landed on the fence... Zap

3. Was doing some work in the paddock. After the first two shocks turned the fence off... His Mrs came home noticed the fence was turned off and turned it back on... Right at the moment he happened to be straddling the fence.... Zap.

Joker's not Robinson Crusoe.
A lot of players use the injury time out.
Thiem seems a good bloke, he's been bridesmaid a couple of times now, so Joker tries to exploit mental pressure.
Can't stand Joker but he uses the tactics available.

Don't often gamble but saw the NFL odds.
$1.80 on Ladbrokes is a good price for a favourite.
Saw some of the match, thought it was done and dusted, a SF victory.
Amazing reversal.
The coach Shanahan has now choked twice in Super Bowls, previously an assistant.

The NFL final should never have been hosted in a neutral, third party venue interstate
It's a different finals structure, I am aware.
But imagine being a loyal Kansas fan, waiting 50 years for success, missing out on a final.
The best team should host the final at their home stadium, it should not be played interstate.
It's patently unfair to local loyal fans.

Channeling your inner Chris Scott

I just don't understand the NFL finals system of hosting finals interstate.
At a stadium which has no link to either team.
Patently unfair for local loyal fans who pay their dues.
Kansas fans have waited 50 years for success.

it’s bid on years in advance

A lot of the Super Bowl tickets would be corporate too.
Tickets range from $8,000-32,000, they said on the news.
Which means the ordinary fan who has waited 50 years for success wouldn't get in anyway regardless if it was played in their own backyard.

My older brother does business in the States, met Kraft, who owns the Patriots.
Of course Agnelli family owns Juventus.

Yep. So they can plan and cater for the entire Super Bowl week and the billion$ that comes from that.

Nobody’s gonna go to a participating team’s city for an entire week ie the opposition, opposition fans, and probably a lot of neutrals as well, if the other team is hosting it ???? A week for the media, fans, players etc needs to be in a neutral (if possible) and pre planned city.

More importantly, how do you decide which champion gets a home field advantage ? The champion of the AFC or the champion of the NFC ?? There’d be endless arguments.

Pre planned ground-location years in advance = common sense for a host of reasons.

I agree, it's a different finals structure.
I disagree with the NFL finals fixturing, that's all.
If the fans' interests are put first, then I think the NFL finals system is inferior
Agree to have different opinions on the topic.

tickets start at 4K for obstructed viewing. The travel part isn’t the worry for the genuine fan

Would just add I enjoy watching NFL, my friend had a box at the Super Bowl.
I am not criticising the sport itself.
But I would just say I don't agree with their fixturing of the final.
It shuts out dedicated local fans on lower incomes.
A "genuine fan" can be on a low income.
I am not altering my own opinion.

It’s a bit much to organise everything to host the game in a couple of weeks, choices are either the AFL system where it’s locked in at same venue, or the one they have.
